Ngong Ping 360 launches neon light cable car services for 20th anniversary

Ngong Ping 360 will introduce night-time cable car services with neon light-themed designs on select evenings as part of its 20th anniversary celebration campaign.

Themed "The highest celebration for your biggest occasions" (見證你我大日子), the campaign aims to celebrate the anniversary and express gratitude for the support of Hong Kong people over the past 20 years. Ngong Ping 360 will launch a series of day and night celebration activities, inviting guests to join this special occasion.

As part of the campaign, Ngong Ping Cable Car has planned to extend operating hours until the evening on selected weekends during summer, allowing guests to enjoy the night views of Hong Kong International Airport, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the Big Buddha from above. Some cable car cabins will be transformed into neon light-themed designs, offering guests a unique viewing experience.

Ngong Ping Village will also be illuminated with classic Hong Kong-style neon lights, recreating a nostalgic Hong Kong atmosphere and creating perfect photo opportunities. Meanwhile, local pop singers will perform live music under the starry sky, adding colour to the evenings.

Daytime activities will include anniversary-themed installations at Ngong Ping Village. Over 20 brands will collaborate with Ngong Ping 360 to design cable cars with brand-themed exteriors and provide special promotions.

Ngong Ping 360 has enhanced its birthday offers with the new "My special day celebration privileges" (我的大日子慶祝禮遇). Guests celebrating birthdays, wedding anniversaries, or graduations can receive special badges and complimentary snacks from designated merchants in Ngong Ping Village. It has also offered a free digital screen display service, showing celebration photos on electronic screens across the Ngong Ping Village, adding a surprise element to guests' "special days".

Additionally, local residents can continue to enjoy a birthday offer this year, redeeming a free round-trip cable car ticket (standard cabin) with a Hong Kong ID, while up to three accompanying guests receive a 20% discount on their tickets.

To extend the celebration globally, Ngong Ping 360 will launch a "Big occasion" (大日子) story recruitment campaign next month, inviting guests worldwide to share their special stories and memorable moments at the attraction through official platforms.

The five guests with the most impressive stories will win a three-day, two-night travel package for two, including round-trip airfare to Hong Kong and hotel accommodation. Additionally, Ngong Ping 360 will create tailored "Big occasion" celebration activities at Ngong Ping Cable Car and Ngong Ping Village for the winners to make their days even more memorable.

James Tung, managing director of Ngong Ping 360, said, "Ngong Ping 360's 20-year journey would not have been possible without the support and companionship of every guest. It is because of you that we have reached this milestone today. To express our sincere gratitude, we have prepared a series of exciting activities, inviting guests to celebrate their 'big occasions' during our 'big occasion’.”

“We have prepared unique experiences - from cable car night rides and ‘My special day celebration privileges' to evening live music performances - all of which are one-of-a-kind and will surely create unforgettable memories for our guests,” he added.
