Tiger Balm brings 3D visuals and free ice cream to HK

Heritage brand Tiger Balm Hong Kong has unveiled its first large-scale, 3D naked-eye immersive outdoor campaign this summer, bringing a dynamic visual showcase to the heart of Hong Kong’s busiest commercial districts.
Accompanying the high-impact OOH display is a limited-time interactive citywide event titled "Catch the tiger, get an ice cream," designed to engage local citizens and tourists in Tsim Sha Tsui and Mong Kok with a refreshing seasonal surprise.
Executed in partnership with PR agency RDS Digital Hong Kong, the Tiger Balm photo hunt campaign aims to create a striking visual presence in high-traffic shopping zones, drive brand interaction, and spark user engagement across key consumer touchpoints.
From 27 July to 23 August, Tiger Balm is dominating large-format outdoor LED screens at Chungking Mansions in Tsim Sha Tsui and Yau Shing Commercial Centre in Mong Kok with custom 3D naked-eye animations.
The brand’s iconic "Golden tiger" appears to break through the screen in a lifelike, three-dimensional display, infusing Kowloon’s primary retail corridors with vibrant energy and serving as a major photo-taking attraction for both local shoppers and visitors.
To build on the visual momentum and offer a tangible reward, Tiger Balm has collaborated with Hong Kong’s iconic Mobile Softee ice cream trucks from 16 August to 22 August. Stationed near the 3D billboards, the Tiger Balm-themed trucks will host the "Catch the tiger, get an ice cream" activation, giving members of the public an opportunity to claim a free soft-serve ice cream.
To redeem the reward, participants must capture a photo or video of the 3D Golden Tiger display and share it on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Xiaohongshu, or Douyin using designated campaign hashtags.
By pairing high-visibility outdoor screens with an iconic local partner such as Mobile Softee, Tiger Balm successfully turns a visual display into an experiential event. Requiring participants to snap and post content directly incentivises user-generated content (UGC), amplifying the campaign’s reach across popular local and regional social channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Xiaohongshu, and Douyin.
Back in May, Tiger Balm Hong Kong tapped Julius Brian Siswojo, member of local hip-hop band 24Herbs, to front the launch of its all-new "SENSORIAL THERAPY essential oil lotion".
The campaign aimed to disrupt the heritage brand's traditional "medicinal" stereotype, repositioning it as an everyday wellness and lifestyle staple for the younger generation.
