The Shortlist launches in Singapore to reshape PR and comms hiring

A new boutique recruitment consultancy specialising in PR and communications has opened shop in Singapore. The Shortlist, founded and led by former 33 Talent director KJ Green, officially launched in May 2025.
Based in Singapore, The Shortlist focuses exclusively on hiring for PR and communications roles, working with both agencies and in-house teams. The consultancy aims to help clients build stronger, more connected communications functions through personalised, high-touch recruitment.
“We don’t just place candidates, we advise, curate, and partner for long-term success,” said Green in conversation with MARKETING-INTERACTIVE.

Green brings over a decade of specialist recruitment experience in the local market. She served 10 years at 33 Talent, starting off as a consultant before climbing up the ranks to director of PR and communications. Prior to that she was a consultant at Chandler Macleod Group. She started her career in Greater Nottingham, United Kingdom, according to her LinkedIn.
The decision to launch in Singapore was a natural one, said Green. “Singapore has been home for over a decade, and it’s where I’ve built both my career and a strong community in PR and communications recruitment,” said Green.
“It’s a dynamic, relationship-driven market full of talented professionals doing meaningful work, and the support I’ve received from this network in the lead-up and since launching The Shortlist has truly affirmed my decision to take this leap," she added.
In a competitive market that includes firms such as 33 Talent, Narrative, Prospect, and MCG, The Shortlist sets itself apart with a founder-led model that works with only five clients at a time. Green explained the lean approach allows for “maximum focus, trust, and impact.”
The firm currently operates solo under DMCG Global’s employment licence, and collaborates with a trusted network of specialists for bespoke projects. Its client base consists of global agencies and brands in Singapore, with most work done on a retained or exclusive basis.
“Our model is based on quality over quantity,” Green said.
While Singapore remains the core focus, The Shortlist is eyeing future expansion in Malaysia and Indonesia, where Green sees strong growth in the communications sector and increasing demand for regional talent strategies.
“Our primary strategy is to support local agencies and in-house teams in Singapore, helping them hire and retain the right talent,” said Green.
“That said, we’re increasingly hearing from global brands looking to establish or grow their comms presence in APAC, and we’re well-positioned to support both. Our value lies in deep local expertise with a regional lens," she added.
The Shortlist isn't the only new consultancy in recent months. Just last week, B2B influencer marketing consultancy INFLUENCE opened shop, with PRecious Communications' Arundhati Saha and Pauline Yoong at the helm.
The consultancy aims to help brands drive business impact and build visibility in competitive sectors through tailored influencer strategies that blend thought leadership, digital strategy, and brand storytelling.
