Monks, the global, digital, data-driven, unitary operating brand of S4Capital, has appointed Yukiko Ochiai (pictured) as managing director, Monks Japan, effective immediately. 

In her new role, Ochiai will lead Monks Japan’s business growth, champion both creative and marketing excellence across creative, digital media and data business, and strengthen client partnerships through AI-powered innovation and cutting-edge technology solutions. She will guide the agency’s expansion in one of the world’s most unique and advanced and digitally progressive markets. 

As a recognised business leader in marketing and communication business, Ochiai brings more than 20 years of international advertising experience. She has a strong track record of driving growth and creative innovation across multiple markets, with proven ability to combine strategic vision with strong team leadership to deliver outstanding results for leading global brands. 

Prior to joining Monks, Ochiai served as CEO of Grey Tokyo, where she spearheaded a transformation that positioned the agency as one of the region’s most successful. Under her leadership, Grey Tokyo delivered double-digit growth in both revenue and profit.
