Jollibee is accelerating its expansion in Canada with its first multi-unit franchise development agreement in British Columbia, committing to open 16 restaurants in the province over the next five years.
The agreement, signed in July 2026 between Jollibee's North American franchisor JBM LLC and a multi-brand food retail operator, marks the Filipino restaurant brand's official entry into franchise-led development in British Columbia.
The deal comes as Jollibee shifts towards a more balanced mix of company-owned and franchised restaurants in Canada, using franchising to expand its footprint while maintaining a disciplined approach to capital deployment.

Jollibee currently operates four company-owned restaurants in British Columbia. Across Canada, it has 28 company-operated restaurants.
The British Columbia agreement follows a 10-store multi-unit development agreement for Edmonton signed in June 2026.
Together, the two deals give Jollibee a committed Canadian franchise pipeline of 26 restaurants. Combined with its existing 28 company-operated locations, the brand expects its Canadian network to reach 54 restaurants over the next five years.
“Canada continues to be an attractive growth market for Jollibee, supported by strong consumer demand, strong brand relevance, and increasing interest from experienced franchise operators,” said Richard Shin, Jollibee Group chief financial and risk officer and Jollibee Group International CEO.
“This latest agreement reflects the growing appeal of the Jollibee brand and our confidence in the long-term opportunity in Canada. As we continue to expand through disciplined franchising, we remain focused on partnering with operators who share our commitment to operational excellence, sustainable growth, and building scale in priority markets.”
The expansion forms part of Jollibee Group's broader international growth strategy, which increasingly uses franchising to build market coverage and scale while limiting direct capital requirements.
The company said the commitments also provide a platform for further expansion, as it continues discussions with prospective franchise partners across multiple Canadian provinces.
Jollibee Group operates more than 10,700 stores and cafés across 33 countries through a portfolio of 20 brands.
