Chipotle Mexican Grill is set to open its first Southeast Asia restaurant at Jewel Changi Airport in 2027, as the American fast-casual chain gears up for its Singapore debut.

The brand confirmed the location in an Instagram post on 1 November, teasing its arrival with an image of ingredients alongside the line "Real food is close".

"Singapore, the guac is on its way," Chipotle said in the caption, adding that consumers can follow its social channels for first looks, updates and the official opening date.

MARKETING-INTERACTIVE has reached out for more information.

The social teaser follows Chipotle's appointment of Rae Ng as brand director for Singapore earlier this year. At the time, Ng said she was "thrilled" to join the brand's growth journey as it prepared to establish its presence in the market.

Ng brings more than a decade of experience in the F&B sector. She joined Chipotle from The Gourmet Factor, where she was marketing director, and previously held senior marketing and communications roles at Tipsy Collective and Select Group Limited.

The Singapore opening forms part of Chipotle's broader expansion into Asia, with the chain first announcing plans in September 2025 to enter Singapore and South Korea. Its Singapore debut, initially targeted for 2026, has since been shifted to 2027.

The expansion is being carried out through S&C Restaurants Holdings, a joint venture between Chipotle and Big Bite Company, an affiliate of South Korea-based Sangmidang Holdings, formerly known as SPC Group. Sangmidang Holdings is also behind brands including Shake Shack and Paris Baguette in Singapore.

Chipotle has already opened two restaurants in Seoul, with its first Asian location opening on Gangnam-daero in September, followed by a second at Shinsegae Department Store Gangnam in October. Chipotle has said its first Seoul restaurant will serve as a reference market for its future growth across Asia.

Chipotle's Singapore entry comes amid a growing influx of international F&B brands into the market. Chick-fil-A made its Asian debut in Singapore earlier this year, while South Korean fast-food chain Lotteria has also returned to the market.
