THE STAR brings retail, dining and performing arts under one identity

The Star Vista and The Star Performing Arts Centre have come together under a single brand identity, THE STAR, as the Singapore destination looks to bring its performing arts, retail, dining and community offerings under one name.

Effective 2 November 2026, the rebrand brings the two previously separate identities together at 1 Vista Exchange Green, positioning the development as an integrated lifestyle and entertainment destination.

The move builds on the existing connection between the two offerings, both of which already carry “The Star” in their names. While the individual venues and spaces will retain their existing names and identities, the unified branding aims to create a more cohesive experience for visitors across the development.

Under the new identity, THE STAR brings together Star Theatre, a 5,000-seat performing arts venue, as well as Star Gallery and Star Loft, which offer spaces for events and functions.

The adjoining mall features more than 100 retail and dining outlets, alongside entertainment options and everyday services. Other features include a pet-friendly environment, an open-air naturally cooled design and Star Plaza, which hosts community activities and public engagement initiatives.

The rebrand is anchored by the positioning “One destination, endless discovery”, which reflects the ambition to encourage visitors to explore more of the development beyond the primary reason for their visit, whether that is attending a performance, shopping or dining.

“THE STAR brings together two established offerings, each with its own role in the visitor experience. For us, THE STAR is about discovery and connection, creating a place where people can come together for different reasons and return for new experiences,” said Ong Sian Hwa, managing director of Rock Productions.

Alongside the consolidation, THE STAR has introduced a new logo and visual identity inspired by the building's architecture. Its website has also been refreshed to reflect the new branding.

The Star Performing Arts Centre and The Star Vista first opened in 2012, developing their respective identities around performing arts and retail experiences over the years. The latest move brings both under a shared brand direction while retaining their individual venue offerings.

The move comes amid wider efforts to reposition Singapore's established precincts and destinations as experience-led lifestyle and community spaces. In November 2025, Singapore Sports Hub was renamed The Kallang, with its operator, Kallang Alive Sport Management, also adopting the corporate identity The Kallang Group. The rebrand brought the precinct's sporting, entertainment, lifestyle and community offerings under a broader destination identity, alongside plans for new facilities and visitor experiences.

Meanwhile, Orchard Road is undergoing its own transformation, with the Singapore Tourism Board, Urban Redevelopment Authority and National Parks Board introducing initiatives to expand the precinct beyond retail. These include temporary pop-up spaces for local and international brands, immersive installations, night-time programming and new cultural and public spaces. The initiatives are part of a broader push to position Orchard Road as a platform for experiential marketing, placemaking and lifestyle experiences, reflecting a growing emphasis on destinations that offer visitors more reasons to spend time beyond shopping.
