ZA Bank is taking its brand outdoors with a pet-friendly play at Hong Kong’s Asia Outdoor Pet Festival, coming on board as title sponsor of the three-day event at Kai Tak Sports Park from 27 to 29 November.
Built around the theme “Paws & pause: Human-pet harmony”, the festival will span more than 80,000 square feet of lawn and outdoor space, bringing together pet-friendly sports, wellness activities, food and beverage offerings, workshops and a market featuring more than 70 brands.
The sponsorship forms part of ZA Bank’s push to connect its digital banking proposition with consumers’ everyday lifestyles, with the bank identifying pet parenting and specialty coffee as two areas through which it can engage Hong Kong’s urban consumers.

Speaking to MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, Corey Chu, head of lending and card at ZA Bank, said pet parenting has become an integral part of Hong Kong’s urban lifestyle, pointing to behaviours such as spending weekends cafe hopping with dogs and enjoying specialty coffee outdoors.
“This dynamic, quality-conscious demographic aligns seamlessly with ZA Bank’s innovative, tech-savvy and lifestyle-driven brand persona,” said Chu.
For the bank, the festival also offers an opportunity to take its brand beyond digital touchpoints and into the offline routines of its customers.
“The Asia Outdoor Pet Fest creates the ultimate weekend synergy by pairing a vibrant pet gathering with an artisanal specialty coffee market,” said Chu. “For ZA Bank, it serves as an authentic, high-touch platform to step beyond digital screens and connect with users within their real-life weekend rituals.”
According to Chu, ZA Bank’s title sponsorship is centred around three marketing objectives: building what it calls a “Pets & pour-overs” lifestyle ecosystem, driving lifestyle-led customer acquisition and strengthening brand affinity.
The bank is looking to use the partnership to move beyond traditional perceptions of financial services by placing itself within lifestyle occasions, while positioning its ZA Card and wider banking ecosystem as part of consumers’ everyday spending habits.
“Specialty coffee and pet wellness are both high-frequency, passionate spending categories,” said Chu. “This event allows us to showcase the ZA Card and our banking ecosystem as the daily companion for urban cafe hoppers and pet parents.”
As part of its activation, ZA Bank has partnered with local specialty coffee brand Urban Coffee Roaster (UCR) to create a limited-edition “ZA Bank signature brew” for the festival. It will also integrate ZA Card contactless payments across market booths, bringing its digital services into the physical event experience.

The festival itself will introduce several human-pet experiences, including what organisers have billed as Hong Kong’s first fully outdoor “Petkle ball” experience, which adapts pickleball for owners and their pets.
Health brand TANITA will meanwhile title sponsor the “Hypet human-pet obstacle course”, designed to test the teamwork and physical abilities of pets and their owners. The festival will also feature a dedicated cat zone, including Pilates sessions for humans and cats.
Beyond its sporting activities, the festival will host a pet market featuring more than 70 brands across pet care, food and beverage, lifestyle and sustainability. Participating brands include Vetalo, Mylo, Three Grandmas and Lotux, alongside food and beverage names such as Drop by Dough, Snack Baby, Urban Coffee Roaster and Hopping Turtle Coffee.
The event will also lean into art and entertainment, with illustration brand Wulichacha creating festival mascots Chill the cat and HAHA the dog. Other activities include live music performances, pet photography, workshops and adoption initiatives.
The festival comes as brands in Hong Kong increasingly tap into the intersection of pet ownership, wellness and lifestyle. Earlier this year, virtual insurer OneDegree teamed up with agnès b.’s Sport b. line on a co-branded series spanning pet care, fitness, fashion, lifestyle and technology, aimed at encouraging owners and their pets to lead healthier and more active lives.
