What does sustainability look like from a child’s perspective?

AIA Singapore has launched a four-part short film series that reframes sustainability through the eyes of children, aiming to show how environmental responsibility is an instinctive value formed early in life.
The series explores how children aged six to 12 understand concepts such as protecting the planet, biodiversity, inclusion, and circularity through spontaneous conversations and play. By spotlighting their curiosity and imagination, AIA Singapore said the films aim to make sustainability feel more accessible and emotionally resonant, rather than abstract or overly complex.
Across the four episodes, each film focuses on a different theme. “Protecting the planet” captures children’s reflections on caring for nature through everyday interactions.

“Upcycle into a new future” highlights how imagination can reshape perceptions of waste and reuse, encouraging a circular mindset.
“Protecting biodiversity, protecting life” explores how children relate to animals and the natural world, while “Upholding inclusion” shows how collaboration and acceptance of different perspectives can help build a more inclusive society.
The short films will be rolled out across AIA Singapore’s social media channels throughout the year.
“Sustainability can often feel overwhelming, but the values behind it – caring for our environment, protecting life, reducing waste, and practicing inclusion – are simple and intrinsic,” said Liu Chunyen, chief investment officer at AIA Singapore.
“Seeing the world through a child’s eyes reconnects us with the simple, significant values we often overlook as adults. It is up to all of us to nurture these values today so that our future generations can carry them forward and shape the world we live in,” he added.
The series forms part of AIA Singapore’s broader sustainability push as it continues to position itself around its “Healthier, longer, better lives” philosophy.
Alongside this, AIA Group has also rolled out its wider “Rethink healthy” platform across Asia, which aims to challenge entrenched health stereotypes and encourage more inclusive definitions of wellbeing.
