Under Armour launches new brand platform in Asia

Under Armour has launched a new brand platform celebrating the unseen dedication of athletes who consistently show up for the sports they love, positioning the journey above the outcome.

Titled "Commit," the initiative reflects Under Armour’s belief that what draws people back to the track, court, gym, and field is not just winning, but the personal growth, freedom, and fulfillment discovered through true commitment.

While today’s mainstream sports narrative often highlights trophies, records, and viral social moments, Under Armour is refocusing on the grit that precedes victory. The campaign spotlights the quiet acts of perseverance: the first breath of cold air on an early morning run, the extra rep after training ends, and the resilience to rise after a fall.

The strategy resonates directly with a new generation of sports enthusiasts in Hong Kong, who view athletics as more than competition or physique management. For these individuals, sport serves as a tool for emotional release, self-expression, mental wellbeing, and community connection.

To articulate this vision across Asia, the campaign highlights real-world stories of regional athletes, including Zhang Weili, China’s first UFC champion, who embodies "Commit to happy places" by finding daily purpose in repeating foundational basics; Danelle Tan, the first female footballer from Singapore to play in a European league, bringing "Commit is getting away with it" to life by creating opportunities against the odds; as well as Jacob Zhu, the emerging basketball player who turns every drive to the rim into a statement, illustrating "Commit to flight mode".

Closer to home, the narrative is amplified by Hong Kong athletes Chloe Chan, Ryan Chak, Kahin Leung, and Glen Yang. In October, these brand ambassadors will translate the platform's core values into grassroots action through two dedicated community programmes.

The UA Commit Basketball Schools Tour will see Kahin Leung, Ryan Chak and Glen Yang lead youth basketball clinics at local schools, while Chloe Chan will lead the Youth Women’s Rugby Clinic, combining skills development and team building, with an open conversation about mental wellbeing, body confidence and overcoming challenges.

“At Under Armour, we believe the most meaningful value of sport is found not only in the outcome, but in every moment when an athlete chooses to commit to it," Simon Pestridge, chief marketing officer and APAC managing director, Under Armour.

“When someone truly commits to something they love, sport becomes more than a way to challenge themselves. It becomes a force for continued growth. Through this platform, we hope to encourage more people to step onto the field, into the gym and back into the work, discovering the change that sport can create through every act of commitment and perseverance," he added.

Through these initiatives, Under Armour aims to mentor young athletes, fostering both physical skills and mental resilience as they define their own sporting journeys.
