The Sandpiper Group has appointed Mokka Mok (pictured) as deputy general manager for Hong Kong, reporting to Kim Spear, general manager, Sandpiper Hong Kong and head of Sandpiper Special Situations.
Her appointment further strengthens the firm’s leadership team and its capabilities in one of Asia’s most important financial markets and coincides with the expansion of Sandpiper’s business across Asia Pacific and the Middle East, which spans 14 locations. It is a newly created role in response to rapid growth for Sandpiper in the Hong Kong market.
Mok brings more than 15 years of experience in financial and corporate communications, advising global and regional clients across Asia. From Hong Kong she has led regional campaigns and high-impact initiatives for multinational organisations, and brings deep expertise in strategic communications, executive profiling, media relations, and integrated brand storytelling.
Her work spans content development, reputation management, and media engagement, helping organisations elevate visibility and connect with key stakeholders, including customers, employees, and investors.
Prior to Sandpiper, Mok was previously at global communications firms, Fleishman Hillard, and Weber Shandwick, where her focus was on financial communications. She has advised a wide range of respected global and Chinese brands across asset and wealth management, insurance, professional services, B2B manufacturing, and technology.
She has also supported large-scale, high-profile initiatives, including philanthropic campaigns, flagship family office summits, and internationally recognised forums for forward-thinking business leaders.
A strong advocate of integrated communications, Mok is well-aligned with the future of communications having developed holistic campaigns that bridge online and offline channels, working closely with digital and creative teams on integrated campaigns that amplify corporate positioning in the region.
Emma Smith, CEO of Sandpiper, said: “We are delighted to welcome Mok to Sandpiper. She joins Kim Spear, general manager of our Hong Kong team, at a time of exciting growth for us, and as we continue to serve some of the region’s most important names and corporations in technology, insurance, financial services, and professional services.”
“Mok’s experience and leadership will be instrumental in boosting our offering to our clients, while supporting Spear and our team in driving new business, strengthening team management, and accelerating the overall growth of our firm," she added.
Mok said, “I have long admired Sandpiper’s growth and culture and am delighted to be joining at a time of expansion for the firm in Hong Kong. I look forward to building and growing alongside our talented team to foster a collaborative culture that delivers strategic, creative, and high-impact work. As clients navigate increasingly complex and dynamic business landscapes, we are well-positioned to support them with communications that drive real value and contribute to lasting reputational impact.”
