Omnicom PR reportedly restructures agency portfolio

Omnicom PR reportedly restructures agency portfolio

Omnicom Public Relations (OPR) is reportedly restructuring its global PR portfolio following Omnicom’s completed acquisition of Interpublic Group (IPG).

As part of the reorganisation, Golin and Ketchum will reportedly merge to form a single agency with integrated capabilities across brand communications, health and social innovation. Golin CEO Matt Neale will lead the combined entity as CEO, while Ketchum US CEO Tamara Norman will take on the role of global president.

Separately, Porter Novelli will integrate as a dedicated brand within FleishmanHillard. The move aims to unite the two consultancies to deliver deeper sector expertise, faster global solutions and more precise counsel for mission-critical work, FleishmanHillard said in a statement. A portion of Porter Novelli’s current client portfolio, including US public sector relationships, will continue to operate under the Porter Novelli brand.

According to reports, an internal memo to staff said a combined executive leadership team would take effect immediately. Porter Novelli’s Sakima Johnson will reportedly become chief integration officer at FleishmanHillard, while several FleishmanHillard executives have taken on expanded roles across growth, strategy, client and operations functions.

Reports added that there will be no changes to Weber Shandwick or MMC at this stage. OPR's public affairs agencies, including Mercury, GMMB and Vox Global will also remain unchanged.

The changes also follow recent leadership shifts within Omnicom’s APAC operations. Last week, Mei Lee stepped down as managing director of FleishmanHillard Singapore after a year in the role.

In a LinkedIn post, Lee described the move as a decision to step away from the “conventional corporate path” after 25 years in the corporate world. She said she will focus on wellness, lifestyle nutrition, mental health and supporting women and children, while continuing to provide senior strategic counsel to a select group of clients.
