Samsung celebrates childhood imagination in heartfelt Galaxy S26 film

Samsung has unveiled a new three-minute film that brings its Galaxy brand philosophy, 'Life opens up with Galaxy,' to life. Created in collaboration with Academy Award-winning director Tom Hooper, the film is a tender tribute to the power of human connection and the boundless nature of imagination.

Developed with Cheil Korea, the narrative follows two inseparable young friends, Mia and Paige. When Mia learns that Paige is moving away, she is determined to find a way to keep their friendship alive forever. Guided by her imagination, she transforms an empty Galaxy box into a fantastical creation that connects her to her best friend in extraordinary and unexpected ways.

Through the lens of play and make-believe, Mia's invention bridges the distance between them. In a magical climax, the cardboard creation becomes a real spaceship, reuniting the two friends and allowing them to continue their adventures together.

The film masterfully reframes a moment of loss into one filled with hope and joy, reinforcing the idea that infinite possibilities are sparked by human creativity, not just technology. The Galaxy brand is positioned not as a mere device, but as a life companion that encourages us all to dream bigger.

Authenticity was central to the creative process, with the storyline and many of the whimsical functions seen in the film inspired by the imaginations of children. During casting, Hooper even asked the young actors to invent their own magical boxes and describe what they could do.


In a bold and deliberate move, Samsung’s latest Galaxy S26 Series makes only a fleeting appearance on screen. This creative choice underscores the brand's commitment to keeping human experiences at the forefront. The global campaign is set to run for a full year across TV, cinema, digital, and social platforms.

This film reminds us of the primacy of human creativity and inventiveness — Mia imagines capabilities for her creation that go far beyond what any real-world tech can actually do. What inspires Mia is friendship and love. I was struck by how much the Samsung and Cheil teams guided my making of this film with such emotional delicacy and intelligence. The human experience is always at the center," said Tom Hooper.

"It is a rare opportunity to be able to celebrate a brand's core philosophy in such a pure and imaginative way. Galaxy has long stood for openness, and this film takes it to new heights and gives it a new meaning. We were excited and honored to have Tom bring this story to life with incredible nuance, joy, and charm," said Tal Shub, global executive creative director, Cheil Korea.
