Parminder Singh (pictured) has stepped down from the role of chief operating officer (COO) of Tatler Asia. Confirming the move to MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, Singh said he has had the privilege to work at the intersection of technology, business, and communities.

Without commenting further on his next move, he said, "Recent AI advances have amplified these three areas, which together create powerful growth opportunities. I hope to add value by democratising access to AI and empowering communities through my new initiatives.”

In a LinkedIn post however, Singh said that he is leaving the role to pursue an entrepreneurial path.  "I had two things forever on my wish list—Vipassana meditation and machine learning—emotional intelligence and artificial intelligence, if you will. I completed the Vipassana course last year and it’s time to focus on the latter now," said Singh.

Following his departure, Michel Lamunière, chairman and CEO of Tatler will be taking on the reigns. Reflecting on his stint at Tatler Asia, Singh said that it was an "eventful time". During his time as COO, Singh and his team launched several exciting products, set up industry-defining IPs and world-class events, said Singh in his post. Singh also noted the beautiful moments he shared with his team.

MARKETING-INTERACTIVE has reached out to Tatler Asia for a statement.

Singh first took on the role as Tatler Asia's COO in February last year. Singh was brought on Tatler Asia to guide its commercial and operational strategies, with a focus on enhancing regional and local market presence, driving advertising, sponsorships, collaborations and B2B revenue growth.

Additionally, he was instrumental in amplifying Tatler Asia's brands and spearheading growth through the exploration of new products and business models.

Prior to his role at Tatler Asia, Singh was the chief commercial and digital officer at Mediacorp for seven years. At the time of his appointment in 2017, Singh's role combined what were previously two separate positions in the company and followed a series of recent hires reflecting Mediacorp’s move to bolster its digital capabilities.

Singh also held appointments at Twitter as managing director Southeast Asia, Middle East & North Africa and India, Google as managing director, display solution sales, Asia Pacific, as well as positions in global companies including Apple and IBM, boasting over 20 years of experience in digital business, sales and marketing.
