Meta's head of top accounts and agencies for Asia Pacific, Tawana Murphy Burnett (pictured), is leaving the company after more than a decade with the tech giant.

In a LinkedIn post, Murphy Burnett revealed she will be leaving Singapore after several years in the region, reflecting on her experience leading teams across Asia and raising her family in the city-state.

In response to queries from MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, a Meta spokesperson confirmed her departure.

"We can confirm that Tawana Murphy Burnett has decided to leave Meta. She has been an exceptional leader for our top accounts and agency partnerships across Asia Pacific, and we're grateful for the significant impact she has made over her tenure. We wish her all the best for the future," the spokesperson said.

Murphy Burnett joined Meta in 2015 as a global group lead based in New York, where she led teams supporting health and beauty advertisers. She relocated to Singapore in 2019 to take on the role of head of global clients and categories, APAC, before being appointed head of top accounts and agencies, APAC in 2023.

Prior to Meta, she spent more than three years at Pfizer Consumer Healthcare in senior leadership roles, including senior marketing director and franchise lead, and senior commercial director for APAC and EMEA.

Meta has appointed Cindy Tan to lead its top accounts and agencies business across APAC with immediate effect. Tan joined Meta in 2021 and has since led the growth of the social giant's eCommerce and tech vertical across the region.

"Bringing more than 20 years of APAC leadership experience spanning technology, eCommerce, travel and media. We're confident in her ability to continue driving strong partnerships with our clients and agencies across the region," the spokesperson added.

Tan, who joined Meta in late 2021, most recently served as managing director, APAC global clients, before taking on the role of managing director, top accounts and agencies, APAC in May this year. Before Meta, she held leadership positions across the technology, media and travel sectors.

Murphy Burnett's departure also comes amid continued movement of senior Meta talent across the region.

Earlier this week, creator marketing platform Fabulate appointed former Meta executive Jon Kee as commercial director for Southeast Asia, Japan and South Korea. Kee previously worked across strategic agency partnerships at Meta and played a role in establishing the company's Malaysia operations.
