Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, has appointed EastWest Public Relations as its PR agency in Singapore, MARKETING-INTERACTIVE understands.

The one-year contract will see the agency manage strategic communications, media relations, and issues management for the tech giant. Archetype was the incumbent.

Prior the appointment, EastWest PR has already been working with Meta on several projects, including the Meta AI showcase held in November last year. The public showcase invited visitors to experience AI-powered devices such as the highly anticipated Meta AI glasses.

In addition to the agency appointment, the tech giant has named Darryn Lim as its communications lead for Singapore.

In his role, Lim will lead the development and execution of integrated communications strategies to support Meta’s product, business, policy and consumer initiatives. This includes shaping content-first and social strategies across the company’s owned channels, while providing strategic counsel and rapid response on complex issues and crises, according to a LinkedIn post seen by MARKETING-INTERACTIVE.

He will also work closely with cross-functional teams spanning policy, product, monetisation and international communications to drive media opportunities and broader programmes.

Furthermore, Lim will identify and pitch compelling stories to mainstream, consumer and trade media, support executive spokespeople during interviews and industry events, engage press, bloggers and creators on Meta’s initiatives, and manage agency partnerships to deliver strong outcomes.

Besides Singapore, Meta is strengthening its leadership in Southeast Asia, recently appointing Lau Sook Ping as its new country director for Malaysia in February 2026.

Lau joins from L’Oréal, where she spent over a decade in various leadership roles, most recently as chief digital and marketing officer for Malaysia and Singapore, driving digital acceleration, eCommerce growth, and data-led marketing transformation across the beauty group’s portfolio.

Prior to L’Oréal, Lau held senior roles at Henkel and Procter & Gamble, gaining extensive experience in P&L management, marketing, and branding. Her appointment underscores Meta’s commitment to deepening engagement with local businesses, creators, and partners across the region.
