CHAGEE has appointed Evelyn Tay (pictured) as senior director of communications and public affairs, marking her return to a full-time corporate role following a stint in consulting.
In her new role, Tay said she is focused on sharing stories around CHAGEE’s agriculture ecosystem, baristas and customers, as she settles into the position.
She revealed the move in a LinkedIn post, where she said she is “fully recharged and back to the grind” after an extended sabbatical and several consulting engagements.

She added that the opportunity to work with CHAGEE’s leadership team, including APAC CMO Eugene Lee, as well as reunite with former foodpanda colleagues Katrina Khoe and Lawrence Wen, made the decision to join “a no-brainer”.
“The process of getting to know the company and its people drew me in with every engagement,” Tay said in the post. “Now three weeks in, the admiration and excitement grows by the day.”
Tay brings over two decades of experience in communications, public affairs and corporate strategy across the APAC region.
Prior to joining CHAGEE, she served as a senior advisor and consultant between 2025 and 2026.
She was previously vice president of communications, public affairs and sustainability, APAC at foodpanda from 2020 to 2023. During her tenure, she led corporate communications and PR, public policy and regulatory affairs, as well as sustainability and CSR programmes across 11 markets.
Tay stepped down from the role in 2024, taking time off to travel and recharge following close to four years with the company.
Before foodpanda, Tay was the APAC communications and PR director at Tesla Hong Kong from 2018 to 2019, and the head of communications APAC at Uber from 2014 to 2015.
Her longest role was as SPTS Technologies' corporate marketing director where she was the global lead for all PR and corporate marketing strategies and campaign. She served the role from 2010 to 2014.

The appointment comes as CHAGEE continues to strengthen its regional marketing and digital capabilities. In August last year, the brand named Ang Qianling as head of social and digital media for APAC.
In that role, Ang oversees CHAGEE’s social and digital strategy across Asian markets, including content direction, platform engagement and social-first storytelling. She is also tasked with translating the brand’s “CHAGEE Together” philosophy into the digital space, driving community interactions and amplifying its focus on culture, wellbeing and connection.
