Bottega Veneta’s marketing and communications director for Greater China Mae Ng (pictured) has returned to McCann Worldgroup as chief client officer of McCann China, reporting to Carter Chow, McCann Worldgroup Greater China CEO.
Ng's return highlights McCann Worldgroup’s unwavering commitment to a client-centered perspective in China. With her industry expertise and market insights, McCann will continue to develop innovative brand marketing solutions that empower McCann’s clients to thrive in a highly competitive market.
Within her new role, Ng will further strengthen the agency’s client-centric strategy, offering a client perspective to accurately address market demands and drive McCann’s efforts in creating greater value for brands in China.
With over 20 years of experience in brand communication, Ng brings a unique dual perspective from both the brand and agency sides, enabling her to pinpoint the core needs of clients in today’s challenging business environment. Her deep understanding of brand strategy allows her to effectively guide agencies to meet client needs more accurately, transforming core agency capabilities into key drivers of brand growth.
Before returning to McCann Worldgroup, Ng served as marketing and communications director for Bottega Veneta Greater China, overseeing the brand’s marketing and communications strategy in the region. Prior to that, she played a pivotal role in shaping the brand strategy and communication partnership for L’Oréal Paris (China) at McCann.
Her portfolio reflects a remarkable breadth of experience, having successfully guided a diverse range of top-tier global brands across industries such as lifestyle, beauty and personal care, hospitality and entertainment, automotive lubricants, consumer electronics, and a wide spectrum of FMCG brands.
Additionally, Ng is an active advocate for the application of AI and AGI in brand marketing. She believes that technology will bring limitless possibilities for content creation, process optimisation and innovation, enabling brands to offer personalised, data-driven experiences at scale while maintaining emotional resonance, according to the release.
Chow said: “In today’s challenging and complex market, Mae has a deep understanding of our brand clients' core needs from their perspective, even in times of change. Her return will further strengthen our strategic partnerships, enabling us to provide even more robust support for brands to achieve sustainable growth in an ever-evolving market.”
“I am thrilled and deeply honored to return to McCann Worldgroup, an agency that has always been at the forefront of creativity and innovation”Ng said. “It feels like reconnecting with a team that shares my passion for bold ideas and meaningful storytelling. The future of McCann’s vision is incredibly bright, and I am optimistic about what we will achieve together. Reuniting with some of the industry’s most talented minds, all aligned in purpose and ambition, is a recipe for success. I can’t wait to contribute to the next chapter of McCann’s legacy and create work that not only inspires but also drives real impact.”
