Grand Indonesia unveils Disney Cruise experience to enchant Jakarta shoppers
share on
This school holiday season, Grand Indonesia has charted a course straight into the heart of Disney fandom. From 2 July to 31 August 2025, the central Jakarta shopping mall is hosting The Grand Adventure - a Disney Cruise Line activation that marks the brand’s first interactive experience in Indonesia.
Timed ahead of the maiden voyage of the Disney Adventure from Singapore later this year, the installation turns the mall’s Main Atrium and Shinta Lobby into a nautical playground of seven zones, all inspired by the soon-to-debut cruise ship - the first Disney Cruise Line vessel based in Asia.
The centrepiece is a 2.9-metre-tall rotating 3D figure of Captain Mickey Mouse, watching over themed zones such as Marvel Landing, Disney Imagination Garden, Town Square, and Toy Story Place. While the immersive sets are designed with children in mind, much of the nostalgia is tailored to tug at the heartstrings of grown-up Disney lovers as well.

“We’re thrilled to collaborate with Disney Cruise Line to bring a magical school holiday experience to families and children for the very first time,” said Kanina Hanindita, general manager of marketing communication and operations at Grand Indonesia, as quoted by Kumparan.
Live performances anchor the holiday schedule, including a Disney-themed dance show at the Main Atrium (4-6 July and 16-17 August), and Enchanted Melodies, a piano showcase of beloved Disney songs performed every Friday from 11 July to 29 August at the Shinta Lobby.
There’s also an extensive line-up of weekend creative workshops, available to visitors who present a Grand Indonesia receipt of at least IDR 300,000 (US$18.47). Children can enjoy DIY tote bag painting, character face painting, and charm-and-bead making across designated dates throughout July and August.
For families seeking more than just a day at the mall, Grand Indonesia offers the chance to win a three-night Disney Adventure cruise through its “Wish upon an adventure” programme - by submitting the most creative wish at Snow White’s wishing well.
Social media-savvy visitors aren’t left out either. Two online competitions - Hidden Adventure Hunt and Once Upon a Look - invite participants to find hidden Mickey Mouse silhouettes throughout the mall or dress up their children as Disney, Pixar, or Marvel characters for a photo competition, with prizes ranging from Disney-themed tumblers to LEGO sets.
“Through the series of exciting and joyful activities, we hope to create unforgettable moments for visitors of all ages,” Hanindita added.
Located in the heart of the city, Grand Indonesia is one of the largest and most prominent shopping malls in Indonesia. Known for its blend of upscale retail, diverse dining, and experiential programming, the mall has become a key lifestyle destination for Jakartan families, tourists, and urban shoppers alike.
