GoTo taps MRT Jakarta to activate Blok M as digital-first transit hub

GoTo Group has partnered with MRT Jakarta to launch Blok M Hub Gojek, a new transit oriented development (TOD) model that integrates public transport infrastructure with GoTo’s digital ecosystem.

Positioned as a blueprint for urban revitalisation, the initiative brings together mobility services, digital payments and MSME enablement in one of Jakarta’s most well-known districts. The collaboration aims to improve commuter experience while driving local economic activity through stronger digital participation.

“The transformation of Blok M into a modern hub for community activity requires synergy between physical infrastructure and digital innovation. We appreciate the Blok M Hub Gojek initiative, established in partnership with MRT Jakarta and GoTo, as it not only facilitates connectivity and mobility but also drives MSME digitalisation and local economic growth in this iconic area. This initiative aligns with the agenda of the Jakarta provincial government in realising connectivity and synergy across economic, social, and cultural activities, particularly through the development of strategic areas like Blok M,” said Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo.

At the core of Blok M Hub Gojek is a three-pillar approach designed to deliver tangible value for commuters, merchants and driver-partners.

First, the initiative enhances transport accessibility to and from Blok M through tighter integration between MRT services and GoTo’s mobility platforms. Additional pick-up points have been introduced, alongside special promotions for GoRide and GoCar users, to encourage smoother first- and last-mile connectivity.

Second, MSMEs operating in the Blok M area are given greater digital visibility through curated placement on the GoFood app. Culinary merchants are also supported through GoDineIn vouchers, offering dine-in discounts aimed at increasing footfall and affordability for consumers.

Third, Blok M Hub Gojek promotes cashless convenience through GoPay, including for MRT ticket purchases. Merchant digitalisation is further supported via the GoPay Merchant app, which includes GoPay Spiker - a payment notification voice device offered with no installation fees.

“Blok M Hub Gojek brings physical infrastructure and the digital ecosystem together to improve the day-to-day customer experience around Blok M. We are pleased to support the Jakarta provincial government’s agenda to advance the transit oriented development (TOD) concept. Through this collaboration, we aim to enhance convenience for the public in their daily activities, while creating more opportunities and tangible benefits for driver-partners and MSME merchants,” said Hans Patuwo, president director and CEO of GoTo.

From MRT Jakarta’s perspective, the partnership reinforces the role of mass transit not just as a transport provider, but as a catalyst for urban activity and economic circulation.

“This collaboration strengthens MRT Jakarta’s position as the backbone of modern urban transportation and a driver of transit-based area development. By directly connecting MRT Jakarta stations with the GoTo digital ecosystem, we are driving increased accessibility and activity within the Blok M Hub area, making it an increasingly vibrant, convenient, and enjoyable destination for the community,” said Tuhiyat, president director of MRT Jakarta.
