GoTo Group has announced an enhanced strategic collaboration between its on-demand services unit, Gojek, and Google Maps. This initiative aims to improve the mapping experience for consumers, driver-partners, and merchants by combining Gojek's real-time mobility data with Google Maps' advanced geo-technology.

The partnership builds on GoTo's longstanding relationship with Google Maps Platform, enabling greater navigation efficiency, reduced delivery times, and improved discoverability for MSMEs on the Gojek app.

"At GoTo, we believe that collaborating with global technology leaders like Google is key to driving innovation that benefits our consumers, driver-partners, and merchants. As a proudly homegrown company, we are deeply attuned to the needs of Indonesians," said Catherine Hindra Sutjahyo, GoTo's president of on-demand services, in a release.

Yael Maguire, VP and GM of Google Maps Platform, added, "Our collaboration with GoTo will help ensure that millions of people in Indonesia have access to fresh and factual information about the world in Google Maps and in GoTo's on-demand services."

Gojek's vast mobility network generates real-time data that provides insights into road conditions and traffic patterns. By integrating this data with Google Maps' technology, the collaboration will enable smarter route optimisation, minimising delivery times and improving navigation for driver-partners. Additionally, enhanced search and destination accuracy will ensure a more seamless experience for both customers and partners.

As part of GoTo's continued efforts to support MSMEs, the collaboration includes a focus on enhancing merchant visibility. Google will work with GoFood to onboard and educate merchants on Google Business Profiles, ensuring accurate address listings and improved discoverability. This initiative aims to strengthen the digital footprint of Indonesia's small businesses, making it easier for consumers to locate and engage with them.
