Think your pull-out game is strong? Durex proves otherwise in retro game

Many men think they’ve mastered the “pull-out” game—but science says otherwise. Durex has introduced a digital game called "The pull out game game" to highlight the potential risks associated with relying on the "pull out" method as a contraceptive strategy.

The game features a retro-styled arcade experience and challenges players to prevent sperm from reaching an egg amidst various humorous distractions such as "judgmental grandmas" and "clueless dogs." Every loss is a reminder of why the pull-out method is a losing strategy in real life.

While playing, users can also unlock discounts for Durex condoms, reinforcing the benefits of using protective measures to prevent unintended pregnancies.

“At Durex, we are committed to promoting safe and pleasurable sex for everyone, and this game is a perfect example of how humor can drive home an important messag about sexual health.” said Pooja Porwal, Durex regional marketing director, ASEAN.

“We wanted to create something that speaks directly to young audiences in a way that’s fun, unexpected, and impossible to ignore. The pull out game game does exactly that. It turns a common myth into an unforgettable lesson," added Guilherme Machado, BLKJ Havas executive creative director.

The game merges classic gaming entertainment with modern sexual health education, providing an engaging platform to promote safer sexual practices. It is now free to play on the site

Durex is no stranger to cheeky activations and campaigns. Earlier in February this year, the brand jumped onto IKEA Canada's latest "U up?" campaign to power real-time engagement for the condom and personal lubricant brand.

In its own twist, Durex messaged IKEA "U up?". When IKEA responded asking "How was your sleep?", Durex cheekily said "Sleep? Nah, we were too busy keeping people up."

"Next time, make sure you're getting the most out of your night too with our naughty goodies," added Durex in its message to IKEA. It also sent IKEA a link to its website selling sex toys.
