Hong Kong-based apparel retailer Giordano has unveiled a regional “Giordano x Kung Fu Panda" collaboration series to celebrate the Lunar New Year.
Partnering with DreamWorks Animation’s iconic “Kung Fu Panda” for the first time, Giordano marks the Year of the Snake with a vibrant range of apparel for men, women, and children. This exclusive collection embodies the spirit of joy, unity and festivity.
The partnership includes in-store activations and special Kung Fu Panda social media content. In addition, Giordano is further delighting shoppers with limited-edition Giordano x Kung Fu Panda lai see packets. Shoppers will receive a set of these auspicious packets while stocks last upon fulfilling the designated spending requirement.
Through such collaborations, Giordano amplifies its international brand presence, propelling its growth strategy forward. Blending trendy designs with relaxed silhouettes and premium fabrics, with lively prints that capture the playful essence of the season, the collection is now available in stores and online across China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
The limited-edition collection features an array of hoodies, T-shirts, and jackets, including family sets that allow everyone to dress alike for the festivities. Among its featured designs are popular loose-fitting styles adorned with Chinese-style button knots and intricate embroidery.
As the Year of the Snake symbolises new beginnings and continuous good fortune, the beloved characters Panda Po and the intelligent Viper are also joining forces to bring Giordano’s ‘World Without Strangers’ brand vision to life.

Back in 2022, the brand made headlines as the family of billionaire Henry Cheng Kar Shun lodged a takeover bid control for Giordano International, in a deal worth as much as HK$2.56 billion (US$326 million).
Despite the staggering economy post pandemic, Giordano continued to build on the positive momentum of the second quarter with a robust third quarter performance, reporting a notable 4.4% year-on-year (“YOY”) increase in revenue in Q3 2024, with September alone seeing a 7.4% YOY growth, according to its Q3 operations update.
The positive achievement was primarily driven by robust performances in key markets across Southeast Asia and the online business in Mainland China, supported by the successful execution of a series of quick win initiatives on retail operational excellence, store narratives, and product assortment availability improvements.
Commenting on the quarterly performance, Colin Currie, CEO of Giordano International, said, “The quick win initiatives we implemented earlier have yielded early successes and reflected positively in our growth in Q3. By enhancing our retail operations, creating compelling store narratives, and improving product assortment availability, we have reduced our reliance on price hikes and cost-cutting measures, while returning the Company to positive sales growth. The encouraging quarterly performance has created a robust foundation on which we will implement our five-year strategic plan ‘Beyond Boundaries’”.
