Fanta summons horror icons on Halloween packaging

This Halloween, Fanta has teamed up with Universal Pictures to summon three classic horror characters - Freddy Fazbear from the Five Nights, the sinister smart doll M3GAN, and the ghost doll Chucky -  to appear together on Fanta’s all-new limited-edition Halloween packaging.

This comes as the sequel, Five Nights at Freddy's 2, will make a powerful return to the big screen on 4 December this year. Before the movie’s release, Fanta’s Halloween packaging will kick off the excitement. As for the sinister smart doll M3GAN, after her debut in the film M3GAN, she went viral online with her "demonic dance". The release of the sequel M3GAN 2.0 this year has sparked a new wave of popularity.

These two horror giants will simultaneously appear on Fanta’s limited-edition Halloween packaging: Freddy Fazbear from Five Nights at Freddy's on the orange flavour, and M3GAN from M3GAN as the star of the grape flavour packaging.

The limited-edition Fanta Halloween flavours, including the special Halloween flavour, orange, and grape, are available in limited quantities in 500ml PET bottles. The orange and grape flavours will also be released in eight-can packs of 330ml cans and six-can packs of 200ml mini cans, making them essential for any Halloween party. The Fanta Halloween limited edition series is now available at major retailers, supermarkets, online stores, and convenience stores.

As part of the campaign, Fanta will also roll out a limited-edition  "Chucky" fruit-flavoured soda. Designed to match Chucky’s iconic look, the soda features a startling blood-red flavour that’s eye-catching and delivers an explosive fruity sensation upon the first sip.

Since his debut in the classic 1988 film Child's Play, Chucky has become one of the most iconic "horror dolls" with his signature red hair and sinister demeanor. Now appearing on Fanta packaging, his terrifying vibe paired with the mysterious flavour aims to engage a wider audience.

Furthermore, on 31 October,  Fanta will partner with a bar FAYY Club to host a "CantoPop Halloween" themed party. The event will feature BEAT FRIDAY, mixing classic Cantopop hits with the latest popular music to amplify the spooky Halloween vibe.

In addition to the Fanta Halloween limited edition series available throughout the event, there will be a special Fanta-themed photo area. All ghosts and ghouls are invited to join, enjoy the limited-edition Halloween Fanta, and sing along to the music. Visitors can get a chance to win two free admission tickets by commenting and sharing on Fanta's designated social media. 

Fanta is also delivering spooky surprises to Hongkongers during Halloween by specially partnering with the West Kowloon Cultural District and AIRSIDE in Kai Tak for a Halloween Fanta surprise giveaway. Participants can receive a free Fanta by completing designated tasks. On Halloween itself, the Secret Garden Hello Magical Hair Party at the West Kowloon Cultural District Art Park will feature a limited-time Fanta mocktail special.

Back in April, Fanta partnered with the indoor sports-themed park Joypolis Sports Hong Kong to create a colourful and dynamic entertainment experience as part of its latest promotional campaign.

This came after Fanta launched a new formula for its grape-flavoured soda, following the introduction of a new formula for its orange-flavoured soda last year. The grape-flavoured soda features playful purple packaging, adorned with a grape logo and the tagline "New great taste," aiming to enhance consumers' multisensory experience.
