EAST HK reimagines hotel retail with three-month rotating pop-up

EAST Hong Kong has partnered with Taiwanese lifestyle authority EVERYDAY OBJECT (EO) and local exploration platform SCANNOW to launch a three-month co-curated retail experience.

The collaboration marks the first overseas venture for EO, a brand that has been redefining modern daily routines since 2013.

Titled “The EVERYDAY OBJECT Select Shop by SCANNOW,” the activation transforms the hotel’s lobby and its first-floor social hub, Domain, into a rotating gallery of lifestyle goods. From 2 May to 31 July 2026, the space will feature over 60 handpicked brands curated to align with EAST’s "living well" philosophy across work, play, and travel.

The collaboration serves as a cross-cultural exploration of how "lifestyle" is interpreted in Taipei versus Hong Kong. Spurred by an invitation from SCANNOW, the project functions as a "lifestyle experiment," using physical objects to highlight the nuanced similarities and differences in how residents of these two vibrant cities perceive a life well-lived.

The collaboration is positioned as a cross-city style exchange between Taipei and Hong Kong, bringing EVERYDAY OBJECT’s lifestyle curation to Hong Kong while also showcasing SCANNOW’s local Hong Kong brand selection, said a spokesperson from EAST HK in conversation with MARKETING-INTERACTIVE. "The messaging emphasises “two-way dialogue” rather than a one-way brand export, which suggests the aim is cultural exchange as much as retail activation."

Every item in the collection has been personally selected by the curators—not merely as products, but as pieces they use, cherish, and would recommend to close friends. By gathering these narratives in a shared space, the residency invites visitors to touch and experience the subtle cultural textures of both cities.

The initiative targets design-conscious, lifestyle-oriented consumers in Hong Kong and nearby visitors who already follow curated brands, select shops, and cultural retail experiences. It also targets people who value slow living, tasteful objects, and discovery-driven shopping rather than purely transactional retail.

This cross-cultural project highlights how everyday objects can enrich routines and encourage living with intention. Every item, personally chosen by the curators as pieces they use and love, offers each brand’s unique perspective on what it means to live well. Over three months, the select shop will refresh their line-up of brands and items to reflect different chapters of daily life.

In May, under the theme of "way to travel", visitors are invited to select objects to carry throughout a journey, and the memories they bring back home.

While in June, visitors are invited to transform the workday with items that inspire focus, creativity, and meaning. In July, under the theme of "At home", visitors are invited to shape the home into a personal gallery, where thoughtfully designed pieces are appreciated as art.

The campaign uses a pop-up retail format at EAST Hong Kong, which naturally creates urgency and a limited-time reason to visit. It also leans heavily on social content, teaser posts and the upcoming launch event, with lifestyle-led storytelling rather than hard-sell product messaging. The campaign will be promoted via social media such as Instagram and Facebook posts from the brands and related media accounts.

The project extends beyond the hotel walls through the SCANNOW app. Featured brands and neighborhood recommendations will be integrated into a digital city map, allowing users to discover independent shops, cultural spaces, and walkable urban routes. With EAST Hong Kong as the starting point, the initiative encourages deeper urban exploration.

To complete the sensory experience, Domain will serve exclusive Taiwanese coffee in limited-edition co-branded cups from 7 am to 7 pm daily. This allows guests to savor the collaboration while utilising the hotel lobby’s open lounge for networking and the exchange of ideas.

Mark your calendars for 24 June! #Content360 Hong Kong returns with a dynamic, one-day event dedicated to pivotal trends—from the silver economies to breakthrough IP collaborations, sports, and beyond. Let's dive into the art of curating content with creativity, critical thinking and confidence!
