Coach puts music at the heart of its Gen Z play

Coach is putting music and real-world connection at the centre of its Fall 2026 campaign, "Live your story", through a new global cultural partnership with Spotify.
The campaign features Oscar-nominated actress Elle Fanning alongside musicians PinkPantheress, SOYEON, Lilas and Shan Yichun, with each artist starring in one of four campaign films and contributing their own music to the soundtrack.
The partnership with Spotify forms a core pillar of the campaign, extending "Live your story" into personalised playlists, digital content and live experiences. A bespoke "Live your story" hub on Spotify will allow fans to explore their relationship with music, discover and share their personalised listening persona, and explore playlists shaped by their music tastes.

The campaign will also come to life through the "Tabby Tour", a travelling experience spanning the US, UK, Japan, South Korea and China. In partnership with Spotify, and QQ Music in China, the tour will feature live performances and conversations with emerging artists, product customisation and experiences shaped by local communities.
In China, Coach is partnering with QQ Music on curated playlist integrations and original programming, while its existing work with Bilibili will extend into video podcast episodes featuring Gen Z creators discussing how music and style can foster self-expression and connection.
The campaign's four films, directed by Emmy-nominated director Vincent Haycock, follow Fanning as the driver of a bus heading to a music festival. As the featured musicians' songs begin playing, passengers who initially appear absorbed in their own worlds are brought together through music and style.
For the first time, Coach is also featuring 12 Gen Z music fans from around the world in its campaign films and stills. Each has a personal story about how live music has influenced their lives and sense of self.
The campaign also puts Coach's Tabby bag into the story, with five special-edition versions inspired by Fanning and the four musicians. A new selection of concert ticket-inspired bag charms is designed to evoke keepsakes from live shows and encourage personalisation and sharing.
The campaign was developed following conversations with Gen Z consumers, who told Coach they wanted to spend less time on screens and connect more in the real world. The brand identified music, particularly live music, as a way to facilitate that connection.

"At Coach, we start with the people, not the category, listening closely to what matters to them and how they are navigating the world," said Joon Silverstein, chief marketing officer at Coach.
"In our conversations with Gen Z, we heard a powerful tension: they long to spend less time behind screens and connect more deeply in real life, but stepping out of digital comfort and into the vulnerability of being fully present takes courage."
Silverstein added that music can act as both an expression of identity and a shared language between people.
"Music is uniquely powerful in creating space for real connection. It is deeply personal, a soundtrack to identity and emotion, but it also creates a shared language that helps people find one another and feel they belong."
The Spotify partnership similarly centres on the overlap between style, music and community.
"This fall, Coach and Spotify come together in a first-of-its-kind global cultural partnership built around a clear insight: Gen Z doesn't separate identity into categories," Silverstein said.
"What they wear, what they listen to, and the communities they belong to are all part of the same personal story."
Spotify's VP of advertising partnerships Brian Berner said the partnership is designed to connect audiences across music, fashion and culture through the Tabby Tour and campaign hub.
"Spotify is where fans are engaged, not just passing through. Our partnership with Coach taps into that positive attention by giving fans real ways to connect across music, fashion, and culture, from the Tabby Tour to the campaign hub on Spotify."
"Live your story" is part of Coach's broader push to build its relationship with Gen Z through self-expression, participation and cultural relevance.
Earlier this year, the brand launched "&Coach", an always-on platform designed to give young consumers, creators and cultural voices a role in shaping the brand's storytelling. Rather than a fixed campaign, the platform was positioned as an evolving content initiative built around shared authorship, with contributors spanning music, sport, film, fashion and activism.
The platform launched with personalities including Charli xcx, Malala Yousafzai, Paige Bueckers, Toni Breidinger, PinkPantheress, Avantika, Iga ÅšwiÄ…tek and KiiiKiii, with stories focused on moments of growth, uncertainty and self-expression.
With "Live your story", Coach is extending that focus into music and live experiences, shifting the emphasis from individual storytelling towards how shared cultural experiences can bring people together.
