Can Sephora and Seth Rogen crack the code to holiday gifting?

Sephora is bringing a dose of humour to holiday gifting with the launch of "We all Sephora", a festive campaign starring actor and comedian Seth Rogen that aims to make beauty shopping more approachable for everyone.
The campaign positions Sephora as a holiday gifting destination, highlighting how its beauty expertise, curated product selection and in-store guidance can help shoppers find meaningful gifts, even when they are unfamiliar with beauty products.
Created in partnership with GUT New York and directed by Jason Woliner, the campaign follows Rogen as he steps into Sephora in search of the perfect presents for his family and friends.

Playing the role of an unlikely beauty shopper, Rogen turns to a Sephora Beauty Advisor for guidance as he navigates the retailer's offerings. Along the way, he discovers everything from setting spray for his producer to a fragrance for his cousin, bringing his signature humour to the often-overwhelming experience of holiday shopping.
Through Rogen's journey, the campaign highlights the role of Sephora's Beauty Advisors in simplifying the gifting process, while encouraging shoppers to explore beauty products beyond their usual preferences.
To build anticipation ahead of the campaign's official launch, Sephora staged a playful takeover of its store at The Grove in Los Angeles, temporarily rebranding the storefront as "Sethphora". The activation, held in Rogen's home city, replaced Sephora's familiar signage with the actor's name, teasing the collaboration before its wider rollout.
The campaign rolled out across connected television (CTV), linear television, streaming platforms and social media. Sephora has also introduced a curated selection of Rogen's holiday gifting picks, available through its website and mobile app.
Beyond the campaign film, the retailer is extending its festive push through exclusive beauty products and curated gifting collections, positioning its assortment and personalised recommendations as key differentiators during the holiday shopping season.
Meanwhile, Zena Arnold, chief marketing officer at Sephora US, said the campaign was designed to remove some of the pressure associated with finding the right gift.
"The best gifts create moments of joy, especially when it comes in a black and white striped bag, but finding the right one isn’t always easy when you don’t know where to start – so our goal at Sephora is to make gifting feel effortless for everyone you’re celebrating this season," she said.
"Rogen is the perfect partner because he brings a warmth, curiosity and humour that makes beauty feel approachable and fun," Arnold added.
According to Arnold, the campaign aims to turn the pressure of holiday gifting into an opportunity for discovery, while demonstrating how Sephora's Beauty Advisors can help shoppers make more confident purchasing decisions.
Speaking about the collaboration, Rogen said, "I had a lot of fun working on this campaign with Sephora. Holiday gifting can be stressful, so anything that makes it easier is a win in my book."
Sephora is no stranger to tapping celebrities for its festive campaigns. Last year, the beauty retailer teamed up with Mariah Carey for a holiday campaign that combined the singer's signature sparkle with Sephora's year-end promotions, putting a glamorous spin on her annual "It's time!" video, which has become an unofficial signal of the holiday season.
Directed by Joseph Kahn, the video featured Carey in a Sephora-branded glam room alongside comedian Billy Eichner, who played a mischievous elf staging a holiday strike over poor working conditions. The film premiered across Carey's and Sephora's Instagram accounts, as well as on Sephora's Times Square billboard.
