APRW sets up corporate and financial communications practice

APRW has established a dedicated corporate and financial communications practice within its integrated offering, with Ng Chip Keng appointed as partner and practice lead.

The new practice will complement the Singapore agency's existing communications readiness and advisory arm, Knowledge Studio (APRW KnowS), and focus on advising boards and management teams across capital markets communications, investor and analyst relations, financial services marketing, thought leadership, and reputation management during disputes and crises.

Ng brings more than 30 years of experience across in-house communications and consultancy roles. In his new role, he will advise listed companies, financial institutions, family offices and private businesses on areas including initial public offerings (IPOs), mergers and acquisitions, investor relations, C-suite advisory, and issues and crisis management.

The appointment comes as APRW marks its 30th year in Singapore, with the agency looking to strengthen its strategic counsel for businesses navigating increasingly complex corporate and financial environments.

“Singapore is growing as a financial and wealth hub. I see a real opportunity to help companies here and across the region build the trust they need to raise capital, grow and lead,” said Ng.

Before joining APRW, Ng was senior vice president, corporate and financial at PRecious Communications. Prior to which, he was executive director at Rothman & Roman Group, and senior advisor at KIS Advisory.

He also held senior leadership positions at Hill+Knowlton Strategies, including deputy managing director and regional director of financial communications for Southeast Asia.

Earlier in his career, he spent a decade at Weber Shandwick, where he was senior vice president and head of its financial practice, and seven years at Sembcorp Industries.

APRW managing partner Cho Pei Lin said Ng's experience across in-house and consultancy roles would strengthen the agency's counsel to boards and CEOs on listings, deals and disputes.

The practice's establishment follows APRW's broader push to expand its strategic advisory capabilities. In August, the agency appointed former Reuters journalist Puja Bharwani as associate director, with a remit spanning narrative strategy, positioning, media relations and high-stakes communications.

Bharwani, who works with high-growth businesses and clients in sectors such as AI and financial services, also brought her proprietary "Owned story" programme into Knowledge Studio by APRW, the agency's communications readiness and advisory arm.
