BBC Studios has appointed Sharon Wilson as director of brands and licensing for Australia and New Zealand, tasking the senior brand and marketing leader with overseeing brand strategy and licensing initiatives across the region.

Based in Sydney, Wilson will report to Suzy Raia, EVP of global consumer products, and will be responsible for driving growth across BBC Studios’ portfolio of iconic brands, including Bluey, as the company sharpens its focus on consumer products and partnerships in ANZ.

Wilson returns to BBC Studios after previously holding multiple marketing roles at the company between 2010 and 2020. Most recently, she served as head of go-to-market at ADMA, where she led initiatives to strengthen market positioning and audience engagement. Her career spans roles across green energy start-ups and established organisations, including Australian Geographic.

Raia said Wilson’s deep familiarity with BBC Studios’ brands and her experience in strategic marketing and licensing made her a strong fit for the role.

“We are thrilled to welcome Sharon back to BBC Studios in this pivotal role,” Raia said. “Her deep understanding of our brands, combined with her proven expertise in strategic marketing and licensing, will be instrumental in driving growth and innovation across the ANZ region.”

Wilson said her focus would be on building stronger connections between brands and audiences through insight-led strategies.

“I’m passionate about creating meaningful connections between brands and audiences,” she said. “By leveraging data-driven insights and embracing fresh ideas, we can position BBC Studios for sustained growth in an ever-evolving marketplace.”

The appointment comes as BBC Studios continues to build momentum behind its consumer products strategy, with a Bluey feature film slated for global theatrical release on 6 August 2027 under the Disney banner.

Amber Brown will continue in her role as director of partnerships, digital and brands, leading off-air brand activations and the growth of brand-funded entertainment and digital initiatives for locally produced programming at BBC Studios Global Production ANZ.
