APEE launches HK flagship to target Gen Z consumers

Japanese fashion label APEE has expanded its global footprint with the launch of its second worldwide flagship store and first Hong Kong outlet at 1881 Heritage in Tsim Sha Tsui, following its inaugural store opening in Harajuku, Tokyo.
Done in collaboration with PR agency Six Degrees, the strategic launch marks a key milestone in the brand's regional marketing strategy, targeting Gen Z consumers with immersive offline branding and youth-centric brand positioning.
Rather than a standard retail layout, APEE's new flagship integrates its classic pink camouflage and heart motif into the store's setting. Blending soft pastel tones, carnival-inspired vibrancy, preppy bunting and vintage signage, the space delivers a dreamy, youth-focused atmosphere tailored for Gen Z.
To align with the store launch, APEE has unveiled its new collection inspired by American academia, reinterpreting its streetwear roots. The brand's signature heart camouflage appears in new layered shades of pink, burgundy, misty blue and purple, balancing sweet and edgy styling.
The season's lineup also features exclusive Line Camo denim with vintage washed finishes. Standout items include brush-stitch embroidered T-shirts, corduroy hoodies, leather tags and a new range of winter beanies.
To mark the opening, the brand hosted an opening ceremony on 13 September, tapping global girl group BABYMONSTER as its headline guest.
The group showcased the new collection, leveraging its massive Gen Z influence and trendy fashion credibility to amplify brand exposure and resonate with young fashion audiences.
Over the years, APEE has consistently connected with young generations through IP collaborations, exclusive limited-edition accessories and community initiatives.

Hong Kong remains a vital gateway for international fashion brands, with retailers increasingly picking the city to debut flagship concepts targeting Gen Z shoppers. US streetwear label Stüssy opened its revamped Hong Kong flagship last year, while contemporary Danish fashion brand Ganni launched its first standalone Hong Kong store in 2025.
Both brands leaned into visually striking store interiors, limited-edition product drops and social-first activations to court young local and tourist audiences, reinforcing Hong Kong's role as a launchpad for fashion.
