WPP Media has retained the L’Oréal Australia and New Zealand media account, continuing its partnership with the beauty group.
The retention was confirmed by WPP, with the agency group saying the relationship would continue to draw on its people, data, technology and specialist capabilities. Reports suggest Publicis and Omnicom Media were also in contention for the business.
Aimee Buchanan, CEO of WPP Media Australia and New Zealand, said the retained model had been built around L’Oréal’s future growth.
“What’s most exciting is the model we’ve built together with L’Oréal, designed not for where the business is today, but for where it’s going next,” Buchanan said.
“It brings together the best of our people, data, technology and specialist capabilities across the group, and shows how we can shape the future of marketing in partnership with our clients.”
Wavemaker CEO Peter Vogel said the account was supported by a strong team across WPP Media.
“We have an incredible team working on L’Oreal – it’s a relationship built on delivering results and innovation day in, and day out,” Vogel said.
“We’re excited to continue that relationship and keep pushing forward and unlocking new opportunities for growth.”
The retention comes amid a busy period for major media account reviews, with global and local advertisers continuing to reassess agency models around data, technology, efficiency and integrated capability.
