The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCDA) has launched WestK Quay (西九碼頭) and a new WestK Ferry service, offering an eight-minute scenic cross-harbour shortcut connecting West Kowloon (WestK) to Central.
Along the newly constructed WestK Quay, situated on the waterfront promenade adjacent to M+, the WestK Ferry service was officially launched on 15 November. Meanwhile, the WKCDA has unveiled distinctive dining facilities along the waterfront, aiming to develop WestK Quay into a vibrant new harbourfront destination that seamlessly blends art, leisure and convenience for visitors and commuters alike.
Jointly operated by the WKCDA and Fortune Ferry Company (Fortune), the WestK Ferry features a vessel design inspired by ocean waves, co-created with students from the Hong Kong Design Institute. The ferry service connects WestK Quay and Central Pier No. 9, offering a direct and scenic journey across Victoria Harbour in approximately eight minutes.
Departures are scheduled every 30 minutes from each side. The service operates from 8am to 10pm on Mondays to Fridays, with extended hours until 11pm on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. All vessels are equipped with air-conditioned cabins and allow passengers to bring bicycles and pets onboard, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable travel experience.
To celebrate the opening of the new facility and new ferry route, WKCDA and Fortune Ferry Company have distributed 3,000 free single ride tickets for adults and 500 for pets. In addition to enhancing external connectivity, WKCDA will unveil five brand-new food and beverage outlets near the WestK Quay with effect from 13 November, thereby enriching the leisure experience with a diverse selection of light bites and drinks for visitors.
Seamlessly connected to the Art Park's waterfront promenade, WestK Quay is poised to become a popular leisure destination. From nostalgic boat noodles and Hong Kong-style street snacks to creative vegetarian cuisine and Japanese night market flavours, as well as Western classics, the variety of culinary offerings adds a rich sensory layer to the waterfront experience.
Throughout November 2025, passengers onboard the WestK Ferry can scan the QR code and present the relevant record when making purchases at the five food and beverage outlets near the WestK Quay to enjoy a range of exclusive offers.
At the same time, WestK Quay will be open for private vessels berthing and picking up and dropping off passengers from 1 December. Applicants must register their vessel via the online booking system on WestK website and reserve the date and time slot for using the pier. Available time slots run daily from 7:30am to 11pm. This service is free of charge and is expected to help the tourism industry arrange itineraries more flexibly, connecting museums, performing arts venues, and dining facilities within the district, and enabling the development of more diverse tourism products and experiences.
