The finalists for the Marketing Events Awards 2025 have officially been unveiled, spotlighting the most creative, impactful and boundary-pushing event campaigns across South Asia, Southeast Asia and Oceania.

Now in its 14th year, the awards return with 43 categories that reflect the industry’s ever-evolving landscape. Among them are three newly introduced categories ‘Best Multi-Day Event Experience’, ‘Best Recurring Event’ and ‘Best Use of Merchandise’ designed to capture the growing trend of sustained engagement and branded experiences that leave a lasting impression.

All eyes will be on two of the night’s biggest titles ‘Event Agency of the Year’ and ‘Event Marketer of the Year’. These top honours will be reserved for the boldest and brightest, as determined by the scores of 31 senior marketing leaders from across the region.

Sok Hoon Koo, former marketing communications director, Asia at The Travel Corporation, said judging the entries was both “challenging and rewarding,” noting the exceptional diversity and creativity on display.

“Each entry brought something unique to the table, making the selection of winners no easy feat. The calibre of activations across Singapore and the region was truly inspiring," said Koo.

Similarly, Ashley Ho, regional head of marketing at Cathay Pacific said that this year’s entries “showcased thoughtful strategy, creativity, and a clear focus on delivering meaningful brand experiences.”

Dewgem Yen, head of marketing at BookXcess, described the judging process as “insightful and energising,” pointing out that while the quality of entries was varied, “a handful stood out for their creativity, strategic depth, and audience impact.”

She added, “It was encouraging to see brands experimenting with fresh formats. I hope future entries continue pushing for bolder storytelling, clearer objectives, and stronger performance measurement.”

Also praising the process, Jayss Rajoo, director of marketing at Pizza Hut Singapore, who said it was “seamless and intuitive,” thanks to a user-friendly judging platform.

“The submissions were clear, diverse, and thoughtfully crafted — spanning everything from powerful consumer engagement to meaningful CSR efforts. It’s inspiring to see brands leaning into authenticity and purpose-driven storytelling," added Rajoo.

Echoing the admiration, Lala B. Vera-Lauro, head of corporate marketing at Crown Asia Chemicals Corporation, said this year’s work was “a testament to strategic creativity at its best,” blending innovation, cultural relevance and impactful storytelling. “From immersive experiences to community-focused campaigns, the commitment to excellence was evident.”

In tandem, Kim Tan, head of marketing and country communications for Continental Group (Malaysia and the Philippines), also praised the strength of this year’s submissions. “Brands are clearly pushing creative boundaries to better connect with audiences,” she said. However, she noted that “the absence of strong performance metrics in some entries made evaluation difficult.”

She added, “In such a competitive field, tangible results are key — and including those would truly elevate future campaigns.”

Schrene Goh, chief of commercial at Mass Rapid Transit Corporation, said judging this year’s entries was “truly inspiring,” with campaigns that “didn’t just move the needle — they reimagined what’s possible.” She added, “From bold creativity to world-class execution, the work set a new benchmark for the industry.”

Mark your calendars for 1 August 2025, when the Marketing Events Awards will take centre stage at a dazzling gala night at W Singapore, Sentosa Cove.
