Stripe has appointed Isabella Liu (pictured) as its new head of communications for Asia, expanding her remit after more than a year with the financial infrastructure company. Liu revealed the move in a LinkedIn post.
Based in Singapore, she will oversee communications across Stripe's APAC headquarters, Southeast Asia, Greater China and India. She first joined Stripe in August 2025 in an APAC communications role, where her work spanned product innovation, customer trust and cross-border storytelling.
Prior to Stripe, Liu was head of communications for Asia Pacific at Discord, where she was the company's first hire in Singapore tasked with building and managing its corporate reputation across the region.

Before Discord, she spent just over a year at Amazon, serving as head of corporate communications alongside her role as APAC economic policy communications lead. There, she led corporate storytelling for Amazon Singapore while working on regional policy communications.
Liu also spent more than three years at Twitter, now known as X, holding several regional communications roles across policy, corporate and customer communications. These included senior manager for APAC policy communications and acting head of communications for Greater China.
Earlier in her career, Liu worked on the agency side at Golin and Burson-Marsteller, with a focus on corporate, B2B, financial and public affairs communications.

The appointment comes amid a string of senior communications moves across Asia. In September, Cathay appointed Betty Wong as head of corporate communications, reporting to Ivan Chan, general manager of corporate affairs. Wong is responsible for the group’s corporate communications strategy, with a focus on protecting and promoting its reputation and brand image.
Meanwhile, AEON Credit Service appointed Genie Tay as head of group corporate communications and PR in June. Her remit spans corporate branding, media relations, executive and internal communications, crisis and issues management, and stakeholder engagement, with a focus on strengthening the organisation’s reputation and aligning communications with its wider business strategy and transformation agenda.
Earlier in March, Danone named Sharon Roberts head of communications for Southeast Asia, tasking her with leading the company’s storytelling across the region. Roberts joined Danone at the end of 2025 and previously led communications for Kimberly-Clark Southeast Asia, as well as PR, events and government affairs at Shopee Malaysia.
