Reddit brings Shopify integration to Australian advertisers

The global rollout lets Shopify merchants sync product catalogues into Reddit Dynamic Product Ads as the platform pushes deeper into retail performance marketing.

Reddit’s Shopify integration gives local ecommerce brands a new way to connect product catalogues with conversations happening on the platform.

The global rollout allows Shopify merchants to automatically sync their full, up-to-date product catalogues into Reddit Dynamic Product Ads, with product images, pricing, descriptions and inventory levels updated automatically.

The integration also includes a codeless Reddit Pixel setup and a streamlined authorisation flow linking Reddit Ads accounts to Shopify storefronts.

Reddit is pitching the integration as a way for retailers and small-to-medium businesses to turn high-intent product conversations into conversions.

The platform said research from TransUnion found Reddit delivered more than twice the incremental ROAS compared to the media plan average in North America, returning US$12.52 for every dollar invested. In EMEA, Reddit said the platform drove a 7x average ROAS for retail advertisers.

“This new integration makes it even easier for businesses of all sizes to unlock performance on Reddit with codeless pixel and catalog syncing,” said Harish Balasubramanian, director of product, ads growth at Reddit.

“For Shopify’s global network of small to medium businesses, Reddit is now an even more accessible part of the marketing mix.”

The rollout follows testing with Shopify merchants including Ethnotek, an artisan-made bags and accessories brand that used Reddit Dynamic Product Ads to retarget shoppers who had shown interest in its products.

Reddit said Ethnotek recorded 4x ROAS and a cost per acquisition 40% below its benchmark.

“Reddit has become a valuable performance channel for us,” said Benjamin Bier, head of online marketing at Ethnotek.

“The combination of high-intent audiences and dynamic retargeting helped us drive efficient growth while keeping the customer journey highly relevant.”

The Shopify integration comes as Reddit pushes harder into retail media and performance marketing, positioning community-led product discovery as a more measurable path to purchase for ecommerce advertisers.
