Pop Mart has officially opened its first store in Bandung, West Java, marking a strategic move for the IP-driven entertainment company known worldwide as a pioneer of designer toy culture and home to fan-favourite characters such as Labubu.

The outlet, located on the first floor of 23 Paskal Shopping Centre, spans 210 square metres and welcomed collectors with an exclusive grand opening on 22 August 2025.

The launch signals Pop Mart’s continued expansion in Indonesia, following successful store openings in Jakarta, Surabaya, and Bali. Bandung was chosen for its reputation as a hub of creativity and pop culture in the country, with the brand aiming to capture a broader fanbase in West Java.

In keeping with its brand DNA, the Bandung store offers an immersive retail environment that blends art, storytelling, and lifestyle. Beyond shopping, visitors are invited to step into a curated world of playful characters and collectibles, designed to turn the retail experience into a cultural moment.

As part of the opening celebration, Pop Mart released exclusive limited-edition items that quickly drew strong demand from collectors. Highlights included the MEGA SKULLPANDA 1000% Van Gogh Museum Sunflowers, a special edition piece that immediately became a collector’s prize, as well as THE MONSTERS Pin for Love Series Letter Pendant blind box, which added excitement to the shopping frenzy.

The Bandung opening further solidifies Pop Mart’s positioning as a brand that merges commerce with culture, leveraging limited drops, immersive retail, and its expanding footprint to connect with a passionate community of fans.

Recently, Pop Mart also opened its Bali store opposite Kuta Beach, designed as a pop-culture spectacle that blends island aesthetics with local ceremonies. The launch reflects the brand’s wider strategy of transforming tourist hubs into cultural footholds for its IP portfolio. Bali now joins a growing network of high-traffic themed stores across Asia, including Singapore’s Changi Airport, Vietnam’s Ba Na Hills, and Japan’s Narita Airport.

At Senayan City, Jakarta, Pop Mart has launched the Hello Moon exhibition, running from 15 August to 16 September 2025. The showcase highlights one of the brand’s most recognisable characters, SPACE MOLLY.
