Digital agency Pollen has partnered with The Arthritis Movement to launch Clara, an AI-powered health app designed to offer personalised, credible support to Australians living with arthritis.
With more than 3.7 million Australians affected by the condition and many facing delays in accessing specialist care, Clara aims to bridge the gap with expert-backed information and tools that help users manage symptoms between appointments.
“People told us they were struggling to find trustworthy advice at the right time,” Alex Green, CEO of The Arthritis Movement, said. “We saw the potential of technology to bridge this gap at scale, so we developed Clara to provide reliable, trusted and accessible support for people living with arthritis.”
The app was developed by Pollen through an extensive design process involving research, strategy, prototyping and AI integration. It was co-designed with people living with arthritis to ensure the experience is grounded in real-world needs. Clara is free service for the community.
“When designing Clara, we wanted to do more than build an app – we aimed to create an empowering digital experience grounded in real human needs,” Brett Mitchell, Managing Director of Pollen, said. “By working closely with healthcare experts and people living with arthritis, we made sure every part of Clara delivers clarity, confidence and care.”
Users complete a short health screening during onboarding, enabling the app to tailor content across key areas including medication, pain, mobility, mental health, nutrition and sleep. Key features include voice-to-text input, intuitive navigation and personalised advice.
