Ogilvy Indonesia has announced a leadership transition, with Kapil Arora (pictured, left) promoted to CEO of the Ogilvy Group in Indonesia, effective 1 January 2026. He succeeds Sieg Penaverde (pictured, right), who will depart the agency after six years at the helm to pursue a new opportunity.
Penaverde, who took on the role during the tail end of the pandemic, has been credited with accelerating Ogilvy Indonesia’s transformation and strengthening its integrated offering. His focus on creative excellence, client partnerships, and people-first leadership has shaped what the agency describes as a culture of resilience and high performance.
Reflecting on his tenure, Penaverde said: “It is the incredible talent, resilience, and steadfast dedication of our people that have allowed us to not just embrace change, but to lead it. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Ogilvy and Bates Indonesia family for their tireless belief, and to the wider Ogilvy Asia Pacific leadership for their unwavering support. I wish you joy in the many more successes surely to come.”

Kunal Jeswani, CEO of Ogilvy ASEAN, paid tribute to Penaverde’s impact while signalling confidence in the agency’s next chapter. “We are deeply grateful to Sieg for his leadership, generosity of spirit, and the indelible impact he has had on our business and our people. He leaves with our heartfelt thanks and very best wishes as he embarks on his next chapter. At the same time, I’m genuinely thrilled to see Kapil step into the CEO role; his energy, vision, and commitment to our clients and people will power the next phase of Ogilvy’s growth in Indonesia.”
Arora’s promotion follows a 24-year career with Ogilvy spanning five offices. He has held leadership roles including heading the Vodafone business in India, leading Ogilvy Delhi, and steering 82.5 Communications. Since 2024, he has served as COO in Indonesia, working closely with Penaverde.
Over the past two years, Arora has overseen major WPP and Ogilvy client relationships in the market - such as Nestlé, Azko, SMBC, Kimberly-Clark and Mastercard - while broadening the agency’s Indonesia-first partnerships and bolstering content, social, and PR & influence capabilities.
“I’m genuinely excited and honoured to lead our operation in this market. Our clients and our people are extraordinary, and I’ve seen first-hand the scale of potential in our talent and our connected capabilities. We will harness Borderless Creativity and the full breadth of Ogilvy and WPP’s capability to deliver work that creates impact for our clients and communities,” Arora said.
Ogilvy said Arora’s appointment marks the beginning of a new phase of growth for the Indonesia business, built on its creative heritage and integrated capabilities. Recently, the agency appointed Andrew Low as its new executive creative director, marking his return to the network nearly five years after leaving Ogilvy Beijing.
