Ogilvy China has appointed Sure Liu (pictured) as managing director of Ogilvy Advertising Beijing, effective immediately. He will report directly to Yong Yuan, president of Ogilvy Advertising China.

Liu brings extensive experience in marketing and brand management to the role, spanning creative, digital marketing, and integrated communications. Liu will be succeeding Autumn Guo, who decided to step down from the role to take a break.

Following the earlier appointment of Julia Hou as group executive creative director, this move represents a significant step in the overall organisational transformation at the group level in Beijing, aiming at strengthening the leadership team's capabilities to drive business restructuring and enhance creative output.

Liu's extensive career includes experience working within prominent agency networks and entrepreneurial ventures. He possesses a proven track record of success in leading cross-cultural teams and integrating multi-disciplinary resources to achieve ambitious business goals. His in-depth familiarity with diverse industries, including technology, automotive, consumer goods, beauty, healthcare, and finance, will be invaluable to Ogilvy Advertising Beijing’s clients.

Prior to joining Ogilvy, Liu established trend-driven innovation departments and led teams that garnered multiple international awards. He is also recognised for his ability to deeply integrate digital creativity and technology, a crucial skill in today's rapidly evolving marketing landscape.

"Liu's diverse experience and proven leadership make him the ideal choice to lead Ogilvy Advertising Beijing," said Yuan. "His entrepreneurial spirit, coupled with his deep market understanding and his ability to drive innovation, will be instrumental in further strengthening our position and delivering exceptional results for our clients."

“I am thrilled to join Ogilvy Advertising Beijing and contribute to the agency’s continued success,” said Liu. “Ogilvy’s legacy of creativity and its commitment to delivering impactful solutions for clients is truly inspiring. I look forward to working with the talented team here and across the network to drive innovation, foster collaboration, and deliver exceptional results for our clients in this dynamic market."
