Ngong Ping 360 and Garden serve up nostalgia this Easter

With the Easter holiday approaching, Ngong Ping 360 has collaborated with local heritage brand Garden to tap into collective nostalgia with an experiential Easter campaign.
Taking place across the Ngong Ping cable car and Ngong Ping Village until 10 May, the campaign targets families looking for “energy-releasing” activities for children during the Easter holidays, as well as Gen Z and social media users looking for “Instagrammable” (打卡) spots.
A spokesperson from Ngong Ping 360 told MARKETING-INTERACTIVE that Garden and Ngong Ping 360 share a common ground in “collective nostalgia” and cross-generational appeal—both are iconic local brands with strong emotional connections and recognition, with Garden long-established in Hong Kong and Ngong Ping 360 holding cherished memories for families and friends.
This year, both brands are celebrating major milestones—Ngong Ping 360 marks its 20th anniversary, while Garden also celebrates its anniversary—making the collaboration especially meaningful. Together, they aim to reimagine familiar icons in a fresh and engaging way, transforming nostalgia into new experiential moments.
During the event period, Life Bread–themed cable cars will travel between Tung Chung and Ngong Ping. Two limited-edition crystal cabins transformed into the brand’s iconic blue-and-white checkered packaging. Visitors who step inside these themed cabins will feel as if they have turned into a freshly baked loaf of Life Bread, being packed inside a giant checkered bag.

In different corners of Ngong Ping Village, classic Garden products are turned into giant photo installations. The green-packaged Pop-Pan spring onion crackers appear to burst from their packaging, while the red family assorted biscuits can be displayed like a treasure chest, celebrating the joy of sharing.

As part of the campaign, themed activities run on designated days, using experiential marketing to engage visitors through sensory experiences, according to the spokesperson. Children with an on-day round-trip cable car ticket can pick up a free “stamp collection challenge game card” and collect stamps by visiting three photo spots in the Village.
After collecting all three stamps, guests can redeem Ngong Ping 360 x Garden limited-edition gifts, including blind boxes with family assorted biscuits magnetic clips or Garden-themed hand towels, as well as Garden snack packs. After completing the stamp collection game, guests can also redeem a pass to the “Garden sandwich workshop,” where children can get hands-on and create their own sandwiches.
In terms of measuring returns on investment (ROI), the spokesperson said the campaign tracks results through visitor numbers and cable car ridership, the redemption rate of the children’s promotional offer, and participation in activities such as the stamp rally and workshops. It also monitors social media performance, including reach, engagement, and shares, as well as media coverage and PR value.
James Tung, managing director of Ngong Ping 360, said: “Garden has long been a classic brand that has grown alongside Hong Kong people, while Ngong Ping 360 holds countless cherished memories of outings with family and friends. This collaboration blends visual delights with interactive experiences — from themed cable cars to installations in the village — aiming to present these beloved Hong Kong classics in a fresh and engaging way.”
“We are also introducing a special HK$30 round-trip cable car offer for local children, allowing families to enjoy triple the fun at a special price, reflecting Ngong Ping 360’s commitment to celebrating every special occasion with everyone,” he added.
Joanne Lau, chief operating officer, business development and marketing of Garden, said: “As a local brand that represents high-quality food and beverage culture, we are honoured to collaborate with one of Hong Kong's famous landmarks, Ngong Ping 360, to weave together different cultural influences into an innovative and unique experience for everyone. We hope you all enjoy this event!”
