Moonfolks Indonesia appoints Puja Komariah as general manager

Moonfolks Indonesia has appointed Puja Komariah as its new general manager, as the agency strengthens its Jakarta leadership following its expansion into regional markets including Brunei and Vietnam.

Komariah (pictured, left) took up the role on 31 August 2026, moving from Dwi Sapta, a dentsu company, where she spent more than a decade and most recently served as client partner director.

She brings around 20 years of industry experience across consumer goods, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, banking, telecommunications and logistics. During her career, she has worked with brands including Enesis Group, Ultrajaya, Bank Mandiri, Mandiri Manajemen Investasi, Combiphar, Kalbe and Djarum Corporate.

At Moonfolks, Komariah will oversee its creative and digital operations. Her remit will also include direct oversight of Moonfolks Echo, the agency's PR and influencer marketing specialism, and Moonfolks Shopex, which focuses on brand experience and shopper marketing.

"As part of our growth strategy across the region, it is important we keep up the high octane momentum in Jakarta. We wanted to bring in someone with strong leadership abilities, deeply entrenched local market relationships and someone who can help further influence the strong culture of Moonfolks," said Anish Daryani, founder, group CEO and president director of Moonfolks.

Daryani added that Komariah's experience spanning creative and media would support the agency's integration with Havas Moonfolks, its strategic alliance with Havas Media Network.

Komariah said the move reflects a desire to move beyond the established structures in which she has spent much of her career.

"At this stage of my career, I'm looking for room to grow again, both professionally and personally. Twenty years in established structures gave me depth, but it also settled into a rhythm I've outgrown. Moonfolks, finding its own voice as an independent agency, is exactly the kind of environment where I believe I can keep learning rather than simply applying what I know already," she said.

"I want to bring my client servicing and campaign strategy experience into an independent environment, where decisions move faster and ideas have room to be genuinely out of this world and 'make audacious possible' for our brands."

Moonfolks was established following Daryani's acquisition of M&C Saatchi Indonesia in January 2024, having previously set up the business as a joint venture in 2018. The agency operates across brand purpose, content, brand experience and brand reputation, with clients including Danone, Sampoerna-Philip Morris, TikTok, Asian Paints, AIA Insurance, Unilever, Puma, Mastercard, Kimia Farma and Vivo.

Komariah's appointment follows the recent addition of Mahendro Sasongko as general manager of Moonfolks Shopex.
