Microsoft has appointed Caroline Foo (pictured) as country general manager for the Philippines, as the technology giant looks to accelerate AI and cloud adoption in the market.

Foo takes on the role from her previous position as enterprise commercial director for ASEAN, where she led commercial and sales organisations across the region. Her experience spans more than 25 years in technology leadership and includes working closely with Microsoft’s customers and partners across Southeast Asia.

In her new role, Foo will lead Microsoft’s Philippines business, with a focus on turning the country’s growing AI momentum into broader enterprise transformation.

The company pointed to findings from the 2026 Microsoft Work Trend Index, which found that 25% of Filipino workers qualify as “Frontier Professionals” - its most advanced category of AI users - compared with a global average of 16%.

Microsoft said Foo’s priorities will include helping organisations scale AI across their operations, expanding AI skills development and supporting responsible adoption through secure and well-governed technology foundations.

“The Philippines has the talent, the ambition and the digital momentum to lead in the AI era. The opportunity now is to help organisations match that ambition with trusted foundations, strong governance and the skills to translate AI innovation into lasting economic and social impact,” said Mayank Wadhwa, president, Microsoft ASEAN.

“Caroline knows our customers, our partners and our business across ASEAN, and I have every confidence in her ability to lead this next chapter for Microsoft Philippines,” he added.

Foo said the Philippines’ AI opportunity extends beyond adoption rates, pointing to the way organisations are approaching the technology and its potential impact on people.

“The Philippines is one of the most inspiring markets in our region. What gives me optimism is not just the pace of AI adoption, but the thoughtfulness behind it,” said Foo.

“Across conversations with customers, partners and leaders, I see a genuine desire to harness technology in a way that amplifies human potential, strengthens trust, and creates lasting impact. The real opportunity is not AI itself. It is what people can achieve with it,” she added.

Foo said her role would be to help customers and partners access the technology, skills and support required to turn AI ambitions into measurable outcomes, while broadening its benefits across the Philippines.

From AI-powered marketing and the friction economy to retention-led growth, DMA Philippines 2026 on 29 September in Manila will bring together marketers to tackle the opportunities and challenges shaping the next phase of digital transformation.
