Lululemon has appointed Hong Kong actress, runner and Fitnez Studio founder Inez Leong as its newest brand ambassador, as the brand looks to strengthen its connection with the local running community.
The partnership will see lululemon and Leong work together on community-led running initiatives designed to encourage more people to embrace movement, running and holistic wellbeing.
Leong, a fitness coach and certified running coach, has built a following through her focus on physical and mental health, as well as her belief in running as both a personal and community practice.
This August, she will also appear on the global stage as an official pacer at lululemon’s SeaWheeze Half Marathon in Vancouver, Canada, where she will guide runners through the race experience.
"Leong embodies the multifaceted identity we celebrate at lululemon,” Joey Chan, market director for lululemon Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, said.
“Her deep impact within the local running community perfectly reflects our mission to inspire individuals to embrace movement. Together, we look forward to hosting more community events, enabling everyone to experience the joy of running, find physical and mental balance with every breath, and explore new possibilities."
Leong’s running journey began with little formal training, relying on perseverance to complete her first overseas race. Crossing the finish line at the 2016 Tokyo Marathon deepened her passion for the sport, leading her to gain her running coach certification and commit to running one marathon each year.
Over time, Leong said she shifted her approach from chasing pace to enjoying the experience of running itself. That mindset helped her achieve a personal best at last year’s Kobe Marathon.
As a lululemon ambassador, Leong said her running philosophy aligns with the brand’s focus on community.
"Community brings a powerful kind of motivation," Leong said.
"We support each other through the tough miles and inspire one another to find balance in both sport and life. This resonates perfectly with lululemon's mission to bring people together and prioritise holistic wellbeing. The true value of running extends far beyond personal records; it lies in discovering your own rhythm and nurturing your mental and physical health."
To activate the partnership locally, lululemon is launching a new monthly community run series with local run crew partner JKM Training Club. The first event will feature Leong as lead runner, with the series open to runners of all fitness levels.
