Klook puts migrant workers at the heart of National Day celebrations

Klook has launched a National Day campaign that turns local experience bookings into opportunities for migrant workers to explore Singapore through a partnership with ItsRainingRaincoats.

Called "Make a memory, gift a memory", the month-long initiative encourages Singaporeans to book selected SG Culture Pass-eligible experiences on Klook throughout August. For every eligible booking made using SG Culture Pass credits, Klook will sponsor a matching experience for a migrant worker through ItsRainingRaincoats.

The selected experiences span arts, culture and attractions, including Chinese seal engraving, paper cutting, personalised perfume workshops, a Chinese tea experience at Tea Chapter, Madame Tussauds Singapore, River Cruise by WaterB, Big Bus Tours Singapore and the J.I.A.K 99 Classic Hawker Experience.

As part of the initiative, Klook aims to host migrant worker beneficiaries across nine curated sessions throughout August. The programme will take participants through Singapore's cultural districts and hands-on local activities, with the aim of giving migrant workers opportunities to experience more of the city beyond their workplaces.

According to Klook, the campaign also seeks to recognise the contributions migrant workers have made to Singapore's development while supporting local businesses and cultural operators through increased participation in SG Culture Pass experiences.

“As Singapore marks another year of independence, it is timely to reflect on our local culture, shared experiences and people who have helped shape our country,” said Sarah Wan, general manager of Klook Singapore.

She added, “Through our inaugural ‘Make a memory, gift a memory’ initiative and our second collaboration with ItsRainingRaincoats, we hope to be able to share our local cultural experiences with the workers who contribute to nation."

In tandem, Dipa Swaminathan, founder of ItsRainingRaincoats said, "Migrant workers are an integral part of Singapore’s story, and National Day is an important opportunity to recognise their contributions and include them in the experiences that bring our community together."

“Through this partnership with Klook, we hope to create meaningful opportunities for migrant workers to explore Singapore’s culture, make new memories and experience a deeper sense of connection to the country they have helped build," she added.

The initiative comes a month after Klook expanded its presence beyond travel bookings with the launch of its first-ever branded attraction globally. In June, the company unveiled "Skyslides by Klook" at the relaunched Skypark Sentosa, developed in partnership with ZJ Adventures.

The attraction features two 44-metre dry slides, including "Skydrop", billed as the world's tallest land-based drop slide, marking Klook's move into branded physical attractions as it broadens its role in the experiences ecosystem.
