JBL plugs premium sound into SG’s coffee scene with first-ever café takeover

JBL is taking its pitch for everyday premium audio straight to the city’s café crowd, transforming PPP Coffee at New Bahru into a week-long brand experience that blends music discovery with Singapore’s thriving coffee scene.
Running from 11 to 17 July, “JBL sip & sound” marks the audio brand’s first-ever café takeover, anchoring the local launch of its flagship noise-cancelling headphones, the Tour One M3 Smart Tx.
Positioned as an “Everywhere entertainment” companion for work, commute or downtime, the Tour One M3 Smart Tx sits at the heart of an activation designed to make premium sound feel as essential as the daily brew.

At the activation, visitors can test out the new headphones and other JBL ANC models at immersive product zones, step into a pop-up record store stocked with curated playlists, and savour a specially crafted JBL menu pairing bold brews with the brand’s signature sound.
The takeover taps into café culture as a lifestyle touchpoint, with JBL betting that young professionals will see premium audio as part of their daily rituals and share that story online.
Guests are encouraged to snap photos at the #SipandSound photobooth and post their moment to redeem free treats, adding a social buzz to the sensory experience.
“JBL Sip and sound” underscores how audio brands are moving beyond shelves and specs to create live, lifestyle-led experiences that link music, mood and everyday moments.
Pop-ups have become a powerful strategy for brands to bridge the gap between exclusivity and accessibility, a trend increasingly embraced by luxury labels. Once reliant on invitation-only events and exclusive boutiques, luxury brands are now using immersive pop-up experiences to connect with modern consumers in authentic, engaging ways.
JBL’s first-ever café takeover taps into this rising popularity of pop-ups, positioning itself alongside luxury and lifestyle brands by creating an experiential space that blends premium sound with Singapore’s coffee culture.
Beyond cafés, the brand is also expanding into gaming accessibility. Last year, JBL rolled out JBL Quantum guide play, a new software designed to make first-person shooter (FPS) games more inclusive for the visually impaired.
The tool uses JBL’s advanced head tracking, spatial audio technology and AI to convert in-game objects and structures into auditory cues, helping players perceive their virtual environment through sound.
