HKTB hunts for PR and social media agency in Middle East

The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) is seeking a public relations and social media agency for the Middle East, for a one-year contract running from April 2026 to April 2027.

The appointed agency will be responsible for PR and social media services across the region, supporting HKTB’s objectives to drive visitor arrivals to Hong Kong.

Interested parties are required to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) via email to Sarah Wong (sarah.wong@hktb.com) and Rivon Huang (rivon.huang@hktb.com) by 19 February, 3pm.

The EOI must include the tender reference number, contact person details, written confirmation of meeting minimum requirements, and a company introduction on letterhead.

Eligible agencies must hold valid and relevant business registration certificates in the GCC, with headquarters and core team based in Dubai. The account management team dedicated to the HKTB account must comprise at least three full-time staff at all times—specifically a director, a manager, and an executive.

Agencies currently serving—or newly contracted for—retainer or project-based work with NTOs, airlines, hotels, attractions, or DMCs from Asia Pacific (including Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia) are not eligible.

The Middle East has emerged as a key tourism market in recent years. Hong Kong’s secretary for culture, sports and tourism, Rosanna Law Shuk-pui, underscored the city’s commitment to becoming a Muslim-friendly destination during her visit to Dubai last April.

Law met with UAE Minister of Sports Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, where both sides explored opportunities to position their cities as global hubs for major sporting events. Discussions centred on professionalising the sports industry, leveraging sports as an economic driver, and fostering community engagement through athletics.

Back in 2024, HKTB launched a series of initiatives targeting the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar, with a view to strengthening efforts to promote Hong Kong tourism in the source markets of the Middle East and attracting more travellers from the markets.
