The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has collaborated with Korean legal drama “Law and the City” (瑞草洞) to integrate scenes set in Hong Kong into its storyline, poised to bring Hong Kong's charm to the global audience.
This aligns with HKTB's ongoing partnerships with broadcasters and media platforms around the world to support the production of films, dramas, variety shows, and infotainment programmes in Hong Kong. HKTB believes that these programmes showcase the city’s distinctive appeal and attract global visitors through on-screen storytelling.
With the support of HKTB, the Korean drama “Law and the City”, starring actors Lee Jong Suk (pictured left) and Mun Ka Young (pictured right) in the roles of lawyers, filmed key scenes across Hong Kong. Premiering on tvN in South Korea on 5 July, “Law and the City” is now available to stream globally on Disney+, with new episodes released every Saturday and Sunday.
HKTB facilitated filming at multiple vibrant locations to capture Hong Kong’s dynamic urban landscape, according to the release. By leveraging the drama’s international popularity, HKTB seeks to promote Hong Kong as a premier tourist destination in Asia and beyond.
In the second episode of “Law and the City”, which aired on 6 July, the series features a 20-second “golden moment” in which Lee and Mun share a tender kiss on Hong Kong’s iconic Central–Mid-Levels escalator - a moment that adds cinematic romance to one of the city’s landmarks.
Meanwhile, upcoming episodes will feature other locations in Hong Kong, each reflecting the city’s unmistakable cinematic charm, according to the release.

Set in the Seocho legal district, "Law and the City" explores the everyday lives, development, and challenges of five lawyers as they navigate the intricate legal landscape. Lee portrays a lawyer with nine years of experience, while Moon takes on the role of a new junior associate at the firm.

Back in June, HKTB launched its latest summer campaign, "Hong Kong Summer Viva", collaborating with over 100 global KOLs to showcase its upcoming discounts and offerings to locals and visitors, done in partnership with local theme parks, transport operators, hotels, restaurants, and retailers.
The initiative reflects HKTB’s recent strategic shift from prioritising visitor numbers to attracting higher-value overnight tourists through targeted campaigns and partnerships.
