FootBalance puts its best foot forward with a beachside check-up

FootBalance is taking foot health checks to the beach with "Sand to soles", a new campaign that uses footprints in the sand to help consumers better understand their feet.
Developed with dentsu Creative Thailand, the campaign was activated at Jomtien Beach in Pattaya, tapping into a setting where people are naturally barefoot. Beachgoers were encouraged to examine the footprints they left behind and compare them against a guide outlining different foot types.
The idea builds on the familiar habit of looking back at footprints in the sand, turning the moment into a simple foot health check without requiring additional equipment or an appointment.

After identifying their foot type, participants could take the experience a step further by getting fitted for customised FootBalance insoles on site, connecting the initial discovery with the brand's product offering.
According to the agency, the campaign was developed in response to growing health consciousness among consumers, while recognising that foot health can receive less attention until discomfort or other issues arise.
Thanakom Ratchataroj, managing director of FootBalance, said the brand's ambition goes beyond selling insoles to changing the relationship people have with their own movement.
"'Sand to Soles' came from looking at the beach less like a beach and more like one enormous invitation to understand your feet," he said. "It meant swapping the consultation room for a stretch of sand and letting the beach do some of the work, even better."
Meanwhile, Ariyawat Juntaratip, senior executive creative director at dentsu Creative Thailand, described sand as "probably the world's oldest foot scanner", adding that a footprint is one of the simplest expressions of how people move.
"The beach gave us bare feet, footprints and curiosity, while FootBalance gave those things relevance," he said. "We loved that 'Sand to Soles' could make something useful out of something so wonderfully ordinary."
The campaign comes as footwear brands continue to put movement and performance at the centre of their product storytelling. Recently, The North Face introduced the Offtrail Ultra alongside its latest Summit Trail Run Collection, a mountain racing gear system designed for training, racing and technical off-road terrain.
Inspired by the brand's 1990 Trans-Antarctica Expedition, the collection pairs performance footwear with lightweight protective apparel. At the centre is the Offtrail Ultra mountain running shoe, designed for steep descents, loose rock, scrambling and rugged alpine routes, with a dual-density DREAMBOUND superfoam midsole system.
