Chocolate Finance rolls out ‘Happy money’ in HK with giant coin stunt

Singapore-based fintech Chocolate Finance is generating buzz ahead of its official Hong Kong launch with a striking street-level campaign—featuring a giant rolling coin moving through the city.
Developed in collaboration with Ogilvy Hong Kong, the activation introduces the brand’s "Happy money" philosophy: the belief that spare cash should be growing and easily accessible—not stagnant or locked away.
The campaign, set to intensify after Chinese New Year, has rolled through high-traffic districts including Causeway Bay, Central, and Tsim Sha Tsui, sparking curiosity and social chatter. Further momentum will be fuelled by festive appearances from none other than the "God of Fortune", cementing Chocolate Finance’s presence on the ground ahead of the full platform launch in March 2026.
At the core of Chocolate Finance’s offering is a flexible, high-yield cash management platform—providing attractive daily returns, zero minimums, no lock-ins, and instant withdrawals. It directly addresses a major pain point among busy Hongkongers: the frustration of idle funds in low-interest or inflexible accounts.
WPP Media is driving paid media efforts to complement the campaign's on-the-ground activations.
"It's official—'happy money' has crossed the harbour and is now here in Hong Kong," said Tim Jones, CEO of Chocolate Finance Hong Kong. "Our 'Giant Rolling Coin' campaign is designed to showcase our core belief in a very direct way: your spare cash should always be rolling and growing, not just sitting still. The energy on the streets has been fantastic, and it proves that people are ready for a smarter, more flexible way to manage their money. We're incredibly excited about the momentum we're building towards our full platform launch at the end of March."
Jason Fashade, managing director of advertising at Ogilvy Hong Kong, added, "Our strategy was to make an intangible concept—smarter savings—tangible and exciting. The initial response to the Giant Coin has been fantastic, proving that a simple, powerful creative idea can cut through the noise. We're excited to continue building that momentum with the post-CNY activations, turning street-level curiosity into a strong user base for the official launch."
