A witness to Hong Kong's transforming eras, Central Market has been dedicated to creating a vibrant “21st century marketplace" in the heart of Hong Kong since its revitalisation in August 2021.

To mark its fifth anniversary, Central Market is pulling out all the stops this August with “HIGH 5 @ Central Market” - a grand mid-summer celebration seamlessly fusing local culture, refreshing cooling treats and interactive games.

Leading the festivities is the anniversary highlight: the 8.23-second "High 5" charity reflex challenge, inviting the entire city to physically "high-five" Central Market and celebrate its big day together. The momentum builds towards 23 August with an irresistible line-up of one-day mega offers. The celebration continues with the authentic "Everything milk tea" market. Combined with summer spending rewards and tenant perks, Central Market is the ultimate destination to unlock mid-summer carnival energy!

8.23-second "High 5 reflex challenge" to win vouchers

To celebrate the anniversary of its revitalisation on 23 August, Central Market presents the "High 5reflex challenge at the G/F Dining Ground entrance from 19 to 23 August. The installation showcases a timer, inviting the public to give Central Market a festive "High 5" and join the birthday bash!

Incorporating the "08.23" anniversary code, players simply hit the timer to stop it at precisely 8.23 seconds for a chance to win HK$300 Central Market cash vouchers! Those who narrowly miss the mark and stop at designated seconds will still walk away with selected dining coupons. Even better, for every game played, Central Market will donate HK$5 to The Salvation Army, turning everyday fun into meaningful community care.

8.23 treats for birthday stars

The celebration reaches fever pitch on 23 August with a one-day mega offer in partnership with tenants. Visitors who head directly to participating outlets on the big day can enjoy three massive offer tiers. Head to the stores under "Flash half-priced zone" to enjoy half-price deals, including the popular OCO AUDIO-COSENSE perfumes, trendy t-shirts from OH YOU MADE MY DAY, and the Le Creuset four-piece ceramic bowl set.

Food lovers can also visit designated F&B merchants for the “HK$5 yummy picks”, where they can savour a selected menu including breakfast sets from Tailor, signature Banh Mì from Banh Mi Brothers, or artisanal cookies from Cookieism for just HK$5.

Calling all 23 August babies! Same-day birthday celebrants who present valid ID and a same-day purchase receipt from any Central Market tenant can redeem one of the three spectacular rewards: a complimentary fresh flower from Ming’s Forest, a selected drink from KEBUKE, or a Greek yogurt from Noon, and blow out the candles together with Central Market!

Aromatic debut of the “Everything milk tea" market

A headline event of the fifth anniversary is a tribute to Hong Kong-style milk tea - a beloved beverage recognised as an intangible cultural heritage that beautifully mirrors Central Market’s historical soul. From 15 to 26 August, the “Everything Milk Tea" market takes over the 2/F 24-hour Passageway, featuring local hidden gems such as Mt. Waves, Macau KamCha champion Milk Tea Gentleman, and Kam Yee Siu, who blends a 30-year family secret recipe with modern flair.

To elevate the experience, award-winning masters from KamCha - the pinnacle of Hong Kong-style milk tea craftsmanship - will make special live appearances from 22 to 23 August! The masters will host the "KamCha milk tea elementary workshop" at the G/F Interactive Wall to share secret brewing techniques and guide participants through the spirit of craftsmanship.

On the 23 August anniversary day (12pm – 2pm), the “KamCha Milk tea demo & giveaway" will take centre stage at the 2/F Grand Staircase (North), featuring live master demonstrations and free milk tea tastings to keep Hong Kong's rich culinary heritage alive.
